A-1 is awesome for customer service and we got a great fridge for less than half price. My wife and I decided to look for a new refrigerator at outlet stores. The other stores we visited mostly had models that were pretty well beat up. We went to A-1 and they had many with only minor scratches and dings for lower prices than the other places. Still being nervous about buying a fridge without a warranty I asked the salesperson “What happens if we take it home, plug it in and it doesn’t work”? He told me that doesn’t happen very often as they test them and actually have them plugged in and running there, but that the rare cases they’ve had problems, they helped the customer resolve the issue. Still nervous as the written policy is “no returns” and knowing we were buying an “as is” refrigerator we pulled the trigger to purchase it and arranged for delivery to our home in about a week. I took off all the plastic/cardboard and then plugged it in and everything was fine. The next day the water dispenser wasn’t working. Some quick research and investigation told me it was likely the water inlet valve (a $30 part). Being a fairly handy guy, I called Sebastian (forgive me if I misspelled the name), who is the owner and said that if he had a spare part I would replace it. He gave me one without hesitation and asked if I needed any help. After replacing that part, it worked for half a day and then went out again. Sebastian gave me another one and again offered help. I replaced it and found it was continually running until it would burn out that part. I called him and he looked up the part, got an original one and came by our house to replace it. He also saw that it would run until it would burn out and asked me if he could confer with his colleague to troubleshoot it and get back to me in a day or two which was fine with us just being we couldn’t use the water pump. He apologized repeatedly and reassured me they would resolve this or make it right if they couldn’t. Sebastian reached back out a couple days later suggesting he could order 3 different parts and come and replace them as soon as he got them in. As soon as he got the third part in possession, he and his colleague, Marek, set up a time at my convenience to come by and replace them. They spent about an hour replacing 2 different parts at no cost to us which solved the problem. They even ran to the hardware store to purchase a new water line that they explained would be better for the fridge for a couple of reasons. I tried to offer them some money at least for the water line and they refused saying sorry for any delay and inconvenience. They really stood behind their fridge despite us knowingly buying an “as is” appliance at a significant discount. The customer service was fantastic and We'll definitely be back. We're also telling all our friends and family to check out A-1 appliances if they are looking for a new fridge or appliance and want to buy LG models with minor cosmetic defects at a serious discount WITH CONFIDENCE.
