This is not a chain fast food place. It is a loving group of friends and family that speak my language of love...food! First, the taste is exactly what it should be for good quality southern cooking.👌 Second, the price is so low it takes me back to pre-COVID-19 prices. Yes, a magical time traveling price journey. Buckle up! Third, the quantity is enough to induce a nice siesta if you eat it all. It also can comfortably make two meals if one chooses to resist the acute temptation to keep eating. No judgement here. The pro tip if you eat in, is to get a to go box, just in case you don’t finish. Fourth, It should be noted that they serve my favorite fried chicken. (That last line should be read with reverence). Any chicken should be happy to live up to the purpose of its existence if it is lucky enough to be battered and fried up in the holy food sanctuary that is the Unique Catering Kitchen. Tuesday is Sabbath, ya'll. Fifth, These people feed locals with purpose. It is not just a job with chores and a wage. They bless this earthly sojourn with creamed corn, rutabaga, homemade mac & cheese, and corn bread, people! That list should be read off with a cadence to add emphasis, and a chuckle at the end.😆 World peace comes from a fork and spoon, not a rifle or weapons of mass destruction. Unique catering knows this. If only we could all be so blessed to learn that lesson in love. One might say that the "happiness" from the God given rights of "life, liberty, and happiness," better translates to, "food." If I could leave a 0 star review I definitely would! I usually don’t even make reviews like this but I’ve never seen bad customer service like this! My co-worker went to this establishment to get us some lunch and the inside of the hamburger steak was pink and not cooked. There were two plates both with double meat and two sides. It was so soft I knew something was off when we picked into it and in ended up being bright pink! My co-workers sister went up to try to rectify the situation and showed them the video of the pink inside!! They literally said they would only refund the meat and not the whole meal which is fine but still a little off you would think that if you just gave someone uncooked food they would refund the whole plate Because now I obviously didn’t trust the whole plate to eat and my co worker’s plate was the same so we threw it away all of it! Then after telling her sister she will Only refund the meat she told her to inform her sister to never come back to the store. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL IS THAT? You don’t want customers to come back to the store because of your mistake I will make sure no one eats at this establishment because not only do they not cook their food properly they also have terrible customer service and if you plan to try to rectify your bad experience with them they will tell you not to visit again! This is not a destination to take your sweetie on a nice date ... BUT ... they earned every one of the five stars in my review. The menu is limited to little more than the daily specials (as posted at the door & in the pics), but the food is wonderfully tasty home-style comfort food, served by the nicest people I've encountered in a looong time. (Our society is inundated by rudeness & incompetence, but the staff at Unique Catering made me think that our society is not [yet] doomed.) We went on "pork chop day" and were NOT DISAPPOINTED. We dined in, and my wife and I each took home enough food to eat for (2) more meals. This was our first visit, but it won't be our last.
