Newer to Fairchild and I have made all but one of my grocery purchases here since we moved here 3 months ago and I seen the price difference shopping off base. The store is always well organized, clean, and the employees are friendly. Most items I have seen are either lower or at the typical price for item in other stores. Meats here are very cheap imo so I definitely like that. I'm use to paying $26-30 dollars in TX for a two pack of good quality Ribeyes and here I'm paying about $17-19 dollars. I've never experienced a line, but I usually go around 9am on a Tuesday or Wednesday so I am not sure how the weekends look.
Sure there is no tax, but there is a Surcharge at 5% which is basically taxes amount imo. I usually spend about $330-400 every big grocery trip and surcharge is around $17-20bucks tacked on to that. Overall I still think you're getting the best bang for your buck going to the commissary plus you don't have to deal with "The People of Walmart" and their one lane open while 20 employees...
Β Β Β Read moreI love my Commissary. They have tons of Vegetarian and Vegan options. Open everyday except Monday.. which is kind of a disappointment, but I am sure they have their reasons.
Prices are very good. Most of the time cheaper than local stores. Fresh veggies and fruit are a common place there. They have a full deli and meat section. They have all name brand products and commissary brands which are cost effective and don't skimp out much for quality.
Some prices on certain items like shaving razors are cheaper at the BX than the commissary so make sure to shop around. However, they always have coupons for a ton of commonly bought items so you always are able to save more with them.
They have plenty of self checkout line and there is hardly ever a wait.
Sushi: It's a great eat. Flowers: Last a long time.
