!!!!!WARNING GRAPHIC!!!!My parents tried to rescue a pit bull from someone and at the same time my Mother(in her 60s) was watching my Brothers German shepherd. The dogs had been living there for 2 to 3 months and no problems.Something snapped in the pitbull and attacked the German Shepard. My mom was home alone and couldn't get the pit off the German Shepard. She called my brother and myself and we tried to get there as fast we could. My wife called animal control to get help. My brother arrived before me and had to beat the pitbull off his dog. My mother beat that pitbull for 20 mins with a steel folding chair trying to get her off of the other dog. She had to put down that night because her throat was ripped out and had spine damage. After the fight was broke up they got the pitbull in the laundry room. Blood every where, up the walls and down the hall. Seriously looks like murder scene and it was. Animal control calls back and said they were closing soon and since the pit was in the laundry room now they WERE NOT COMING. serous. So that pitbull soaked in my brother's dogs blood had to stay there until the next day because they were closing soon!!!! My mom will now be haunted for the rest of her life by this experience. She is seriously traumatized. Now nothing is going to bring Vox back but the only thing that would've of help deal with this very traumatic situation is if they could of came and picked up that pit that night. We couldn't even clean up the blood that was in there. The next day when we called again to have the pit removed the lady that came( officer grey) was very very rude and had no sympathy or compassion They said it wasn't a priority and said the situation was diffused. Are you kidding? Worst experience in our lifes thanks for nothing...
Read moreEverytime I call for anything like a welfare check of an animal, or anything related to neglect or excessive barking, I’m left wondering why I even bother. These guys don’t seem to care at all, and don’t try to help resolve anything. I’m left speechless at the cold responses to my most recent call.
I called in to let them know of a wiener dog that was visibly exhausted and whining. This dog and it’s owner was in a long line of other big dogs and their owners. They all seemed fine, but this small wiener dog was obviously thirsty, and or needed a break. I went out to offer water, and the owner brushed it off saying “oh he’s okay” while just continuing to walk away. The person in dispatch just gave me the “well without an address we can’t do anything” and then continued, “well we also only have one officer in the field right now.” As if this response is valid, like does the safety not matter? I could’ve followed em, got the address if needed. The person just insisted that their other person was responding to something else.
This to me is terrible and they shouldn’t call themselves “animal control officers” if they aren’t gonna control bad owners or even check in on a safety concern for an animal. Isn’t neglect illegal? Can’t they not get help from the municipality for this? No officer backup? They could at least do that right? This whole situation has me very disappointed in animal control as a whole. I’ve not had good interactions with them, and maybe that’s me, but I...
Read moreI adopted my kitten from these guys and he has been a complete joy. He is leash trained and social-- he doesn't bark-- but he acts like a dog, he rolls around and flops on your feet. It's pretty funny. He can't land his jumps well and is a bit clumsy and camera shy. Through a 4,300+ mile road trip, he only freaked out once. And that was when we would open the windows to pay tolls.
Our adoption fee was $145. This came with his vaccination and a chip. He is not declawed, and he doesn't tear up furniture anyways and to be honest-- ear clipping and declawing are animal cruelty.
Adopting a pet is a terrific thing to do, you can change an animal's life and their stress levels in the blink of an eye. When we adopted him, he was a lil' dirty and wasn't taking care of himself. We bought a foam bath product intended for cats and have pretty much spoiled him with toys.
The caretakers there had told us that he was timid natured and probably wouldn't be ok around kids or guests and that he might be shy. He was that way the first two days we had him-- but a laser pointer snapped him right out of it. We used the pointer and snacks to leash train him.
If you adopt a cat, I recommend Science Diet (balanced nutrition) or Blue Buffalo (higher protein) cat food. The Tidy Cats pellet system works like magic. Better than clay or pine litter.
Also, this place looks like a jail. Help these guys get out of the system, they're good animals in need of...
