Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in Alaska

First off the restaurant looks terrible from the sidewalk. The windows are piled with so much stuff it looked like a second hand store! We weren't sure we were at the recommended place! The plants were covered with dust and the pots piled with dead leaves. That should have been our first clue!

They weren't busy (3 other tables) but Service was mediocre. They did not return after our food was served to see if everything was ok or if we needed anything else....and we did.

The green curry was so hot we couldn't eat it and we like spicy food. I mentioned the unexpected heat to a female server who just looked at me and walked away. The Pad Thai was so very dry the noodles were stuck in one clump and had minimal flavor. The chicken pieces were painfully dry, tough, and totally flavorless. We've had lots of Pad Thai and Thai meals around the country but never any this bad.

On a positive note, the veggie spring wraps were delicious as was the Thai iced tea. However, this didn't make up for the awful main dishes. We won't...

If I could give it zero stars I would. We were greeted at the door by a lady behind the counter asking if we were staying or picking up food. We were staying. I get an hour for lunch so we sat down at 5:40pm to eat generally a busy time and there were plenty of people there.

We were seated but thats as far as we got. They have a 10 year old girl waiting on tables, taking orders and delivering food. We sat until 6PM without getting water, a waiter or anything so we decided to leave. Some would say 20min isnt a long time, but I only get an hour and who knows how long it would have taken to get our food. Wont be going back because if their service is anything like their food it will be slow and bad.

Also the interior needs some renovations. Looks like an old ice cream parlor or some weird buffet. Never again...

Over the years, Thai Kitchen was good. Up until they only do take out. We noticed that the food wasn't as great anymore. I am thinking they changed the cook and it wasn't as superb. We orderes yellow curry and it was just too soupy and just less veges or meat. Then we said, well we will not order anymore. Bu then again after that experience we forgot about that we ordered yesterday. Ordered basil stir fry which was a disappoinment coz it was too much onion and maybe only 6 leaves of basil and again its soupy. Ordered spicy fried rice, the rice wasnt fried. It was just a steam rice and they topped it a stew(y) topping. Thai Kitchen lost its ability to serve good food now. I have always been a fan but its time to look for new thai food...
