Stayed in the Boreal cabin for 3 nights in the first week in August. The place was very clean and comfortable with everything you need for cooking, showering, and sleeping. As someone else said there are no grocery stores so bring what you need. The area around the lodge was interesting to me as I like to look at and inspect old machinery. One thing about Alaska is that there must not be a market for scrap iron. There was a yard full of old bulldozers etc. nearby and and old church chapel that you can just walk in any time. Heidi was very nice and she and her husband seem to take pride in keeping a nice place. We didn't go to Deadhorse but we made a day trip as far north as we dared with the gas we had. You apparently have gas only at Coldfoot and Deadhorse and we weren't interested in being after dark getting back to Wiseman Village. The mosquitoes are pretty mean but we had spray for that. In any case the Boreal Lodging is highly recommended as long as you understand it's a cabin and don't expect a luxury hotel with swimming pool...

She provided us with useful information and helpful tips on how to prepare for the stay (food related, given the fact that the place is so remote). And even though we could not make it in the end, I cannot but believe that if we did, it would have been a wonderful experience. I will definitely stay there if/when I plan this trip again, and I would definitely recommend Boreal Lodge to anyone who dare to venture...
