Knik River Lodge Helicopter & Glacier Dogsled Tour — Local services in Alaska

I had the absolute privilege of taking a helicopter tour and glacier landing with Ryan, and it was one of the most breathtaking experiences of my life. The flight itself was spectacular…soaring over endless Alaskan wilderness, weaving through mountain peaks, and then gliding above the vast, shimmering expanse of the Knik Glacier. Just seeing it from above would have been worth it, but the real magic happened when we landed right on the glacier itself.

We stepped out onto the ice and spent about 30 minutes exploring a landscape that felt like another world. Walking across the glacier, hearing the crunch beneath my boots, and seeing the brilliant shades of blue in the ice up close was surreal. The highlight for me was drinking pure, ice-cold glacier water straight from a stream…a simple moment I’ll never forget.

Ryan was phenomenal the entire way: knowledgeable, professional, and so easygoing that he made the adventure both exciting and comfortable. He shared insights about the area, made sure we felt safe, and gave us plenty of time to take it all in.

Emily - rode with us during the dog sledding encounter. She was extremely pleasant and excited to tell us all about the dogs and mushing ins and outs. Issac - who spent time introducing us to all the dogs and answering all of our questions with excitement!
