Update/response: Not going to keep going back and forth. I received a phone call two days after drop off/original review saying I didn’t return the blankets and will be charged accordingly. The blankets were in the designated green blanket bag upon pickup. I folded the blankets and put them back in the green bag on drop off. I guess they didn’t look or they’re being facetious due to this review as the lady sounded upset when she called. I even texted her asking if she found the blankets and even she mentioned this one star review. I reached out to U-Haul customer service after the call and they saw the blankets in the designed green bag from the photo I took upon returning the truck. Whatever happened between me dropping off until now isn’t on me. Don’t insult my integrity by saying I didn’t return some blankets, do better. It’s just one, one star review. Hey John, how was I suppose to know you were calling other locations? Let’s break that down, are you just saying this to try to make me look bad? I did the same, a few had equipment on the way to my new location. Just time slots I needed wasn’t available, that’s besides the point. Yes upon pickup I did not see the French fries as I was in a rush, my fault for not taking a photo. After hoping out the truck to load the truck is when I noticed the fries. They were tucked behind the seats and some were smashed. But that doesn’t matter at this point. I’ve moved around the lower 48 due to the military, so yes I’ve had experience with other dealers and this still one of the worse U-Haul dealer I’ve dealt with, just look at his response. Let’s learn from this experience and move on, god bless.

Worst experience I’ve dealt with a U-Haul dealer. Got a call the day prior of my pickup stating they have no equipment. The call was late so all other dealers were closed already and couldn’t get the time slot online I needed to pick up. Bit the bullet and rented equipment from home depot which is 3x more expensive. Showed up on location with no truck outside the gate. Even the owner asked if it was parked outside the gate when I called. No instructions on how to get into the gate with the code until after you select “I’m at my truck” on the app. Obviously I wasn’t at my truck rental. Biggest headache for an easy process, especially during moving which is already a headache. Not to mention the truck was dirty upon pickup with smashed French fries on the floorboards. I am so very grateful for this place, it's a God sent place truly. The Manager named Stephanie is absolutely amazing and has gone over and above to help me in a time in my life where I needed it the most and also Garret has been incredibly amazing and helpful as well. Stephanie is a asset for this company and this world needs many more people like her for sure. My mother is very sick right now and I had to pack up my whole house, my entire life basically, and find a place I felt was safe and also clean for all my belongings while I went a few States over and left my son behind here in Texas so I can go take care of my mother. Not an easy thing to do at all. I was so distressed until I found this place and Stephanie stepped right in with no hesitation and helped put me at ease immediately. I went to many storage places looking at the units and checking the property and the people out and my search stopped when I got here. This place is so incredibly clean, so peaceful, and the prices are not ridiculous like other places that are not clean and not peaceful. Stephanie went out of her way to reassure I was totally taken care of and made me feel so comforted and at peace through the whole entire process. The whole entire process was smooth and the prices are totally reasonable and fair and I rented a 20 foot U-haul with equipment and a climate control unit. Again everything was so very clean, amazingly clean, (no exaggerating) and it was a completely smooth transition and process with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Even now I still have peace knowing that all my belongings back home are safe, secured, protected, and are well taken care of in a very clean environment and Stephanie still makes me feel at ease with any questions that come up. My son checks on things as well because some of his stuff is in my unit and everything is safe, secure, protected and very clean. No worries at all and that's a good feeling to have when my life was uprooted and I'm having to help my mother who has life and death medical issues. I highly recommend this place to everyone and to the owners please know that Stephanie is a keeper for sure and that you have an amazing Manager that is a gem and a rare breed taking care of your property and your customers! When you’re trusting the storage of valuable things, you want to know that safety and security, and accessibility, are most important to your the storage facility. I found that to be true at The Storage Place, Aledo. What I didn’t expect was their kindness and care toward me as a person! I once locked myself out of my unit…on a SUNDAY. And within minutes I heard from both the owner and the manager on site, there to help me into my space so I could complete a move in a timely manner.
