GVSU Laker Store — Local services in Allendale Charter Township

I am genuinely so disappointed in the GVSU laker store.

I got a notification from my bank saying my account was in the negative. Turns out the laker store charges me DOUBLE for my books. When I called and asked about it they basically said I was lying and it was only a pending charge. We went back and forth until Ethan said to send proof of my bank statement.

Once I sent my bank statement, THATS when they admitted that they made a mistake, yet the refund can’t be processed until the next day.

They took a college student money and basically called me a liar until I gave them proof. It is a shame that now I currently have no money and an overdraft fee from my bank, now I have to take care of!

I tried to return a sweatshirt I purchased 3 days ago because when trying to put the hoodie on it had a huge rip in the back of it which my head went through. The manager who assisted me did not provide any actual help besides her saying that they would not sell a hoodie like this and that I caused the cut in the back. I was offended that she was blaming me for the cut because I did not cause this and she said there was nothing she could do and didn't provide any extra help. Your typical university bookstore. Good atmosphere. I've used the top floor to get school supplies a couple times, I'd recommend it. Unless you want professional pens and mechanical pencils, the Laker Store will do the trick. The tech section upstairs is as adequate as you'd expect at a college. For example, my computer charger died, and they didn't have my type except for a universal charger for $80.
