I'm incredibly fortunate to have this wonderful local grocery store less than a mile away! It feels like a home away from home every time I step inside, as the friendly staff always greets me with a warm smile and even knows my name – it's like my very own Cheers bar.
One of the standout features of this gem is the consistently fresh produce. As someone who enjoys experimenting with somewhat obscure ingredients, I'm always pleasantly surprised to find exactly what I need on their shelves. They truly cater to all culinary preferences, boasting an impressive selection of Bob's Red Mill grains and flours.
One of my personal favorites, Paquito peppers, are a staple item in their inventory. Whether I'm whipping up Spanish tapas, French, North African, Middle Eastern, or Armenian dishes, this store is a treasure trove of ingredients and inspiration.
A pro tip: visit early in the day to savor the local, preservative-free bread baked by a talented artisan. It's the perfect complement to to accompany whatever...
Read moreArmen Market is not a Lebanese store. It’s more like Persian store but, they sell Lebanese food. However, the food preparations by the meat section are not the same as authentic Lebanese style. The guy is very very rude. If you try to purchase the leanest beef or chicken, he tries to sell you the ‘fat’ product just because it taste better. He did try to sell it to me but I kept telling him I don’t want the fat %. Then he asked me what I’m going to cook so that way he can tell me to purchase the fat ground beef. What’s it to a butcher to tell you what I’m going to cook. Also, if you’re buying only 2 pounds, he tries adding a pound which adds up 3 lb. He has done this not only to me but people that I know. Also be very careful of one of the cash register lady (with blue) eyes. If you don’t pay attention and look else where, she will charge items that you didn’t purchase. She’s done it to me twice. She’s done to my friend as well. That’s why I NEVER...
Read moreLong overdue review. Armen Market is my favorite grocery in the area.
They always have everything I need for both cooking and baking. It looks small, but they have an extensive selection of groceries, especially if you're looking for more European/Armenian/Middle Eastern/Mediterranean selections. You can tell that whoever does their inventory knows how to cook!
The prices are good, comparable to corporate stores like Ralph's/Stater Bros/Trader Joe's. The cashiers are always very sweet, too.
I highly recommend them if you're in the area and want to support a small, local grocer. Wish small business grocers like this were...
