My son was having an issue with his truck and was forced to pull into the nearest lot, which was Gun Commanders.
As he tried to see what was wrong, before going inside to let their staff know of his situation, someone came out and notified him "it was against policy" to park on their lot after hours. He had already called me, and as I was on my way, he removed the alternator. That's about when he was told he would have to remove the truck. My son assured the rude person, with no compassion, that he would get his truck off the lot before closing time. Of course, at that time we had no idea every parts store would not have another alternator. I had already contacted a towing company to be on standby. I had to come pick him up and take him to get an alternator. The parts store down the street didn't have one for his truck. After calling around, we found a store in Buford. It took some time due to traffic. My son called Gun Commanders in front of me, providing an update, even gave them an estimate time it would take to get to the store that had the part. The 2nd courtesy call was on our way back, as it got closer to their closing. Both calls were made in front of me, and both times I could hear what was said. Each time he called, he was threatened that his truck would be towed if not gone by closing. My son apologized repeatedly, but still the threats. On the 2nd call, just before we arrived back, I could hear, "I was just about to call for a tow". Once we arrived back, my son immediately went to work. I had to leave to get a tool, (we live a few miles down the road) but when I was on my way back, my son called to say that he got the truck running and was down the road returning the alternator. I met him there.
I don't care who you are or what "policies" you have or what signs are posted. If you can't find compassion for someone in trouble or need, you don't deserve to be in business. I understand you don't want loitering. It's understandable for the type of business. But constantly telling someone you're going to call and have the vehicle towed is just hateful.
Get a gate and lock up your lot if you don't want your lot to be a "safe space" for emergencies.
I refuse to do business with anyone so heartless that it feels that continued threats to tow the vehicle are justifiable. As if being in this situation isn't difficult enough. WE HEARD YOU, LOUD AND CLEAR THE FIRST TIME. It's not like we wanted to have an issue or wanted to leave the truck.
What if it had been one of my daughters or me? My son, an ARMY soldier, a diesel mechanic, a volunteer, and donates to a local church, was respectful and courteous. He didn't deserve the rude and continuous threatening behavior.
Do better Gun...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is not the store I frequent and yesterday I found out for good reason why. My old bellyband holster needed replacing with something better. My husband, an army veteran, was carrying my gun due to the fact I did not have a good holster hence my visit. Upon walking in and speaking to the gentleman at the counter (who was very nice and helpful) he asked what type of smith and Wesson M&P I had...my husband clears my weapon effectively and safely and hands it over to the employee so that he can now help me find a fitting holster. The owner gets onto the employee about us handing our gun over. Weird and never before experienced this in a gun store, but whatever. We move on to find what is needed with the help of the associate and whom Im guessing was the owner angrily calls my husband over (whom is a disabled veteran and hard of hearing) and basically gets onto him for bringing a weapon into a gun store?!? like huh??? All while placing his hand on his own weapon he was wearing as if we were gonna hurt him after we turned over the only gun we had with us at the time so that the associate could help me. My husband tells him maybe he shouldn't own a gun store if he is scared of guns....which is beyond true. I have never been to any other store for guns or accessories that seemed so frightened of their customers for absolutely no reason. I am also not going to frequent a store that has their owner coming up to me, or my husband with their hand on their gun as if we were doing anything other than shopping for a holster. Straight shooters has always been much nicer, much more accommodating, and never scared of anyone carrying inside their store (because...ummm.....yea) Its my preferred spot and will never go back to this store. Also, as you'll see they also very rudely reply to any negative reviews about their business so I'm sure we will be seeing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat people at this shop! Bought my M4 S&W Sport II from them for a great price! They worked with me cause I wasn't able to afford the full price all at once. When I went back to finish the purchase, all I had to say finish paying off my rifle my man knew which one it was, the wonderful lady that handles the background checks and the cashier duties is very nice and funny. Great place for gun talk or small talk, big selection of just about every type of gun u can think of great selection of accessories from sights, holsters, targets ohh they have the best targets Zombies that actually bleed haha. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Even kept the store open for a extra 5 mins so I could purchase more ammo from them. Mike the owner even helped me with getting a holster for my handgun. Everything 5 star about the people and the store. Only one thing that I would point to that kinda sucks is that they are installing all the accessories I bought for my M4 on the rifle for and its taking a little longer than I expected. Just joking with u Mike š. Rather wait longer and for it to be done right than done quickly and rushed then start having problems. Seriously tho Great Place and Great People I'm just lucky enough they are walking distance from my house and if I have any questions or problems they have happy to help in anyway they can. So thank u guys and gal. Being seeing yall tomorrow need some more ammo and more of those targets. Thanks for the Gun Commanders shirt too Mike. I tell everyone that asks me about where to go to buy anything gun related yall's store is the only one I tell them to go to! Stay safe yall and thanks again. Hurry up Mike šššš¤£š¤£š¤£.
