This is the closest United Supermarket to my home, and I currently do not have a car. Most of the time I find pretty much what I need. I am 64, and recently have not been feeling well. I got a ride there the other night, I live out of town and to walk takes an hour when I'm well. I needed breathe-right strips in pharmacy. I asked the person behind the counter where the cold medicine was, he insisted that the nasal strips were in sleep aid. I buy them all the time, usually in a different store, they are always with cold medicine. So I walked through all the isles looking for the cold medicine. Came back around to find the cold medicine right behind him, and he is still looking in sleep aid!! The breathe-right strips were right there!! I said here they are, I told you they were with the cold medicine...he actually said, I thought they were in sleep aid. I said, you should listen to your customers. I also asked him for an arm sling previously to this, and he said no, I don't think so. Now I feel as though, they probably do have them. Last week, their flyer had chicken on sale and other meats, when I got there, they said it must have been last week's ad. They were wrong, my flyer had the correct date. I bought some chicken anyway which made everyone sick. Cannot wait to be closer to United on Bell and 45th...that is my favorite United...
Read moreplaced my first online order. when i arrived to pick it up, i was given half of my order and half of someone else's order. when i corrected them they were kind enough to get the rest of my items to complete my order. i normally check my eggs, however i figured with an online order, they would do this for me. when i get home i begin to put up groceries and for some reason felt to check the eggs. there were a couple of broken eggs. had to drive back to get them replaced. a manager came out of the customer service office and said she would replace them. when she came back, she plopped them down and said there you go. i said, i don't even get an apology? she raised her voice and was practically yelling at me. i told her she didn't have to yell, but she claimed i started with attitude. instead of saying she would bring this to the team's attention for improvement. she continued to yell at us even as we were leaving the store. i have never had this level of service at a United Supermarket. i will not return to this store. multiple mistakes on the same visit. also left off my bread from my order. i didn't bother with it. hopefully she was having a bad day and doesn't treat other customers this way....
Read moreI have to agree with Shari Johnson in reference to the employees. In this case... The female manager/management with long dark hair and tan skin tone that works towards the front of the store on the evening shift around 7pm on weekdays is very abrupt and rude. Not only just to customers, but I've seen her communicate with other staff and vendors and she comes across as very arrogant and snide. I've noticed this on more than 1 occasion.
I truly don't understand why all the attitude and faces have to be made when addressing others... It can really make a person ugly. Working in management puts you in a position of authority over a store, but it certainly does not put you above anyone. So it's really not becoming of you to walk around like others are beneath you.
The store itself is decent, but negative management can make your business look bad. It is okay to smile and speak to people with respect. You get what you give and positive energy trumps bitterness any...
