Northridge Village — Local services in Ames

Our children researched assisted living facilities in Ames for us to consider when we felt ready to leave the farm. After reviewing the options and costs, we toured two facilities. We choice Northridge Village as our first option because of their services and facilities for any potential needs that might arise--assisted living, health care and memory care being offered.

When my husband unexpected fell and needed inhouse rehab, unfortunately Northridge Village was unable to provide a place for him. After three weeks of traveling 40 miles each way, to help with his rehab, I reached out to Luke at Northridge Village explaining my position and questioning whether he had an assisted living apartment for us. He had two available for immediate occupancy and within a week I was moved in. Everyone within the system has been very helpful. All of the tenants are very friendly and welcoming.

After three months of residency, as a whole everything has been mostly satisfactory. The few issues that have arisen were efficiently settled.

Although we had been told that there would be a rent increase, we did not expect that it would be quite so hefty.

From a retirement home to a rehabilitation center, to a nursing home center, northridge village has it all. 2 Independent living buildings. 2-3 hot meals a day. Cooked by our staff, meals and desserts everyday! We have a great coffee shop where you can sit and mingle, watch the news or the game. Fresh cookies put out daily along with our coffee machine. We have an always available menu to chose from. In the morning we do exercise class. There is a gym and a spa. We have a hair dresser who works in the building. Don't drive? Don't have a car? Raining and you don't want to go out? We have a transportation bus we will drive for you! We are across the street from the new fareway. We toured the facility with Luke & was very impressed with the levels of care & overall appearance of all areas we visited. The residents we encountered appeared happy & the staff knowledgeable & caring. A lot of thought went into building this state of the art care facility & no detail had been left out as far as providing a safe, clean & welcoming environment to live in.
