I was looking for a specific item for my Christmas village and checked out the Michael's website, knowing that they usually carry pieces. I found the electrical cord I was looking for and checked to see where it was available in my area. Most of the area stores listed the item as "out of stock". The only store that carried the item was about 20 miles away but the site stated they had a limited supply. So off I went to get the electrical cord. When I got to the store they had a very small selection of the Lemax village collection and no electrical cords.
I spoke to a nearby clerk stocking shelves (only clerk I saw not working a register) and asked where the item could be found (it was on clearance). She went on her headset and was told it was in with the Halloween products, so the two of us went hunting for that section. When we got there, no Halloween villages could be found. She went back on her headset and asked again where the electrical cords were and was told - it's all put away. I said their website listed a limited number of electrical cords available at their store. She was then told they had a couple of houses available but no accessories.
I said they needed to update their site then because it was still listing items as being available. She grunted and walked away. No apology and no acknowledgement that the site should be updated. Three hours later I am home, still looking for the cord and it is still listed as available at their store.
In this age of electronic inventory the web site should be able to be updated almost immediately, and certainly when it is pointed out that the site...
Read moreAh yes, the place where creativity happens. It was overall a fun visit yesterday. We came in only to buy a white t-shirt for a Tie Dye event this weekend. My daughter then pointed to a tie dye kit that she wanted but had no price. No price scanner to be found in the area. So, I put it back and explained to her that she will have plenty of fun this weekend making a shirt with her friends and we can make one at a later time. (Mind you, I came in for 1 item, so I was not going to carry random items in my hand while holding my young daughter's hand.) She was fairly good through the store visit as we walked around. So, I allowed her to get a toy. They had steven universe mystery plushes on clearance and she was super excited. She LOVES Steven Universe. So now I am holding multiple items and it starts to get tricky. We are almost to the registers now. What's this? More clearance? Tell me more. I see a tie dye kit, 60% off. All the other items on this entire display have "clearance price stickers" But not any of the tie dye products. That was annoying. And I would hate to be the person to have them price check an item only to not get it and make them do more recovery by putting it back at the end of the night. Guys, and ladies, you have to be consistent with how you do clearance. Please put prices on or make price tags in front of all your...
Read moreI don’t plan to ever shop at this Michael’s again. Today I had a cart with a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff in it. I went up to the register and there was no one behind it so I started using self scan and this employee came up and literally over my shoulder, watching every single item I scanned. I go to Michael’s a couple times a month and never once has anyone ever stood over my shoulder and watch me scan my items. I completely understand being nearby and keeping an eye or in case somebody needs help, but the fact that she was breathing down my neck was so obnoxious I ended up walking out halfway through scanning my items and let her cancel the order. Like wtf? I put in my phone number for my rewards and they have very clear very up close cameras on the self scan so why is this woman on top of me treating me like a criminal? Why do they have self scan if they don’t trust people to use them? There’s hobby lobby, there’s Amazon, there’s Etsy, there’s the dollar store for Christ sake, there’s plenty of other places to get craft supplies that don’t make you feel like a bad person for having a full cart and using self check out.Oh, and check out the other reviews - looks like I’m not the only one having a bad experience with employees and self checkout...
