Wish I could put a 0 stars for this... I had booked a ferry from Anacortes to Victoria since he has a car.. My boyfriend and I arrived an hour early from Seattle and approached the teller... when we approached the teller with our reservation, she said “oh this ferry was cancelled”... I was not notified about the cancellation of the ferry because I didn’t “apply with an account”.. that is very contradicting when booking the ferry gave 2 options, with an account and without an account.... Their bookings should be made MANDATORY to apply an account at this case then.. so you’re telling me that EVERY person who didn’t apply for an account will come to the ferry and have the same issue!!? I feel so bad for the others who made the same booking. I was also sure that when I booked the ferry, a phone number and an email address was asked.. couldn’t you contact me then..? I am so upset with the way customer service was handled. The teller didn’t tell us the reason why the ferry was cancelled, there was no other ferries available to go to Victoria in their terminal and instead asked us to drive across the Canadian border and grab a ferry in Tsawwassen terminal instead... luckily my boyfriend drives so this was no issue “don’t worry the ferry runs until 1am”... but I am concerned to the others who commuted a different way.. this booking wasted our time and the gas to drive to the Anacortes terminal and up to Canada... if they only notified me I would’ve definitely booked at a different company as I had 3 different options to make the ferry to Victoria for the same driving distance. Also, when I had asked about my reservation, the teller mentioned nothing was paid for until we take the ferry... no wonder the customer service sucks and that they don’t care if they contact you or not since no transaction was made.... IGNORE BOOKINGS HERE...
Read moreATTENTION PARENTS!!! ATTENTION PARENTS!!! The ferry system is for all of us humans to enjoy. Many of us work on the Islands and this is our only form of transportation to and from. We work hard then travel up to 3-4 hours per day on the Ferry. For us locals, a typical 8 hour work day is more like 12-16 hours. We are exhausted and enjoy the down time while on the Ferry. We can catch up on sleep, enjoy a book, or just relax. Also consider the staff that work on the ferry. They DO NOT want to hear your bad mannered children or have to navigate around them because you can't control their behavior. The Ferry IS NOT a playground or jungle gym for your screaming disruptive children. It is not your Ferry to do as you please. It is a shared public space that we all have the right to enjoy. Teach your screaming disruptive children common courtesy while in public! Just because they are young IS NOT a valid excuse for your child's behavior. If you can't control your child, then take them below to the car deck or outside and if we're lucky, they'll fall...
Read moreTerrible service, Anacortes supervisor unwilling to assist customers going to Orcas Island. Clear favoritism is given to Friday Harbor. There were 5 ferries to Friday Harbor in a 5 hour period, there were only 2 that traveled to Orcas. There were people, who had reservations that waited for over 8 hours. The Supervisor was inept and " I will not ask for additional ferries to help customers get to Orcas." Washington State ferry service is a failure and the staff refuse to think outside the box and are as uncaring as one could imagine. People who own businesses that support the island economy suffer the most. The Washington State ferry management should be fired to include the maintenance staff who though historical reports, clearly can't property maintain the ferries. I would give negative stars if I could. For the pure lack of professionalism and poor service, the ferry service should be at no cost with the county picking up the cost, mainly the city of...
