Anacortes Ferry Terminal — Local services in Anacortes

Staff had multiple lies: that the cars who got to go first were waiting longer than us, that they are medical cars. Give us empty promises that we would “definitely” be on the next boat because we’re the first few lanes lined up, then orchestrating cars coming out of nowhere to cut in lines in front of us.

We would’ve believed all that, had we not been here waiting since 1PM, had we not been waiting over 10 hours by now.

Staff kept yelling us about how we should be making reservations ahead of time. We tried! We checked online. Nothing. The website misleadingly said you don’t need to book your return trip because all tickets are round trip. I double checked w a ticket booth staff before I got on the island. She said the same thing. People doing business on this island are very nice and made my trip great. The government agency, however, is ruining...

Easy, affordable, unique, carefree travel...and totally fun! We took the Ferry over to Friday Harbor and it was so easy. Plenty of parking, the ticketing area and lobby is kind of small, so if you want to sit down, get there before the rush of people, but you can wait outside on there tables as well. The lobby also has very clean restrooms, and you can acquire some snacks inside too. The car lines arrive early, a reservation is a must, and prepare to wait, but... it's soooo worth it! The ferry was clean, and it had plenty of seating inside or out. The views are so unique coming from the water. Best of all, the ferry was on time for both departure and return! Oh, remember to NOT set the car alarm. Odds are...it will sound off if ya don't. Highly recommend a trip...

Reservations are highly recommended during high traffic times! Love our ferry system. The staff is super efficient and knowledgeable about their routes. There's a lot to do while you wait; food and restrooms are in a few spots and tourist information (pamphlets) are available inside the terminal and on each ferry. There is a pretty beach nearby to. Keep in mind that you may not be able to hear announcements from the beach or in the bathrooms. Walking onto the ferry is super easy. Parking is plentiful but it does fill up fast. Be prepared for a walk if you end up in the upper lot. They have been having issues with being understaffed so please be patient. They are doing the best...
