Had RV reservations at the fair grounds for Friday and Saturday night while there for a Saturday cattle show. When asking at the time of the reservation where the RV sites were located in relation to cattle show location, the lady could not tell me. Upon arrival, we discovered the RV sites are at the far opposite end from where the cattle show was being held. But wait there is a solution. There are 50 amp RV plugs where the cattle are stalled. We asked can we stay here for our $90 full hook up pay where there is only electricity instead of at the park 100s of yards away. "NO!!" If you do event organizer will be charged $500 or not allowed back. So we moved. Then they shut the gate between the RV Park and cattle show, forcing us to drive way around on FM roads to check and feed our livestock. Most definitely this is the worst we have ever been accommodated for by a county facility anywhere in Texas. Good job Brazoria County Fairgrounds boss. You must be a real...
Read moreWent to assist with Captain shish kabob. It is an event sponsored by the county extension offices and put on by a lot of volunteers. It was amazing and so many people work so hard to provide a neat and wonderful learning experience for multiple children from all over the county that came to spend the day. There were all kinds of sessions for the children to learn from and from what I seen they all really enjoyed it. However for the facility it was sorely in need of touch up. The bathrooms were disgusting with some of the facilities not working or not having things to dry your hands with. Several of the buildings could have been tidied up a lot better as well. Hopefully they can do better next time
Update- had a big volunteer appreciation luncheon at the Sebastian building for agrilife volunteers. Was a pretty good crowd. The extension agents all did...
Read moreI don't have any experience at this place at normal hours so let that be known first. The event we were there for was a special needs field trip day for our public school. It wasn't terrible, and I couldn't be sure if this was just the day or the limited staff at the time, but most of the attractions smelled like urine and there wasn't enough seating or direction to assist you
I'm sure that this place could be fun under different circumstances, but for me it was overcrowded, understaffed, and smelled dirty. I elected not to purchase food, so I have no idea what it was like.
All in all I would definitely give them a second chance, but the first impression was a bit of a bust. Also, be sure to allow quite a bit of time...
