I heard about Coastal Welding Works by chance when Steven Plassala posted a message on a Facebook group I belong to. I decided to call and ask if he could rebuild the 15 inch prop that originally came with my 2005 21ft. Shallow Sport boat. I had stopped using that prop about 14 years ago when I was told by another (well known) shop that it was worn down beyond repair. After texting, and eventually speaking to Steven, I sent him the prop. After inspecting it, he called me back with a very reasonable quote. I had him start the repairs and a short time later the prop was finished and sent back to me. I paid him with a credit card over the phone and the entire transaction went so easy. I never met Steven in person, but he was truly a pleasure to deal with. Now, to the prop. Steven brought that prop back to life. He built it back to the original specs. The prop performed like it did the day I got my boat. I had run 3 other props over the years that never performed as well as the this one did and that's the main reason I wanted it rebuilt. Currently here getting a surfboard rack made and mounted to my RV. I have been trying to get something for my surfboards for a couple months now and I haven’t been able to find anyone who could come up with a design, get material, make and install the rack. Coastal Welding Works called me this morning and said they had an opening. From brainstorming to install they were able to get the job done. I can not believe the quality of the work, and how fast they are getting it done. This is truly a top shop. They are very knowledgeable here and do not half @$$ anything. They are very busy but if you need something welded and they have an opening I strongly recommend getting the work done here. I live full time in a school bus and struggled from FL to TX to find someone who could either replace or fix my gas tank that was leaking. Once I got in Aransas Pass I called 3 different welding shops and all 3 directed me to Steve at Coastal Welding. Not enough good things can be said about Steve and his employees at Coastal Welding.
