It is unfortunate a wonderful and qualified doctor such as Dr Deborah Spring is behind the military wall of the Wright Center. My 89 year old mother, who has never needed a doctor was in terrible pain from a shoulder that just started hurting her. I had convinced her it was time to be seen by a doctor and went in search of a good one. I looked up reviews on various doctors and unfortunately did not look up the "associations" that were behind the scene. I thought I was making an appointment with the wonderfully reviewed Dr. Spring not the Wright Center and since I didn't know that she was behind their wall, did not look up the Wright Center's reviews. This ended up to be my fatal mistake. The Wright Center insisted on making 2 appointments for my mother, one for the shoulder and the other in order to do an "intake" or sign her up with Dr. Spring as her PCP.
Dr. Spring certainly lived up to her reviews. She and her intern were exceptional and very respective of my mother and her situation. She has made it 89 years without needing a doctor and not many people are that fortunate. Unfortunately, now she does need one and although I am glad we chose Dr Spring, I wish she wasn't a part of this money hungry establishment. She does not belong with them. Dr Spring and her intern saw how hard and painful it was for my mother to get around and did her intake that day so we didn't have to come back for the second appointment. For this we were very grateful.
Although Mom's shoulder is doing very well, she still has not regained the strength that is needed for her to get upstairs and get into bed at night because she needs the arm with the hurt shoulder to hold onto the railing then bring her legs up on the bed which is higher than what she is capable of. She has been sleeping in a recliner. My mom is determined to stay in her house until the very end keeping little secrets like this to herself. When she let it slip of her sleeping arrangement, I said we can simply get you a bed to set up in the living room. I made some phone calls to find out how to get her one through her insurance and the provider told me they would need a prescription from her doctor stating she needs a bed.
Sounds simple right? You just make a call to her doctor who just saw her and her lack of mobility and it shouldn't be a problem. If I was allowed to talk to her doctor I would've gotten the prescription but the Wright Center's wall blocked that request. I was informed that my Mom needed to come in for an evaluation appointment to determine her level of disability because "nobody is going to give her a bed for a shoulder injury". Translated this means we need the money from your insurance company by making everything an appointment.
When I got off the phone, I told my mother we have to go to an appointment to get the bed. "I am not going" she said. When I asked why not she responded with tears this time "Maryann I can't do it" Her shoulder is feeling much better and just needs to get stronger. She is afraid the amount of work she would have to do to get ready and then go to this appointment getting in and out of the car it is possible to reinjure the shoulder. The risk is bigger than the reward and she desperately needs this shoulder better.
Seeing tears in this tough woman's eyes really got to me. I got onto the Wright Center's Mid Valley Practice website and tried to find contact information or a way to file a complaint. I saw the patient portal where I thought I could contact her doctor. I figured an email address, or name and birthdate and access granted right? Nope requires an appointment. I found and called the grievance number and after a 40 minute on hold wait got a representative who stated she would put a request in for me to be contacted. No such contact happened. No big surprise there
Because of their greediness, an 89 year old woman is now sworn off doctors and continues to sleep in a recliner praying for a shoulder to heal. They can care less. Those are the facts. You decide whether you want to trust them with your...
Read moreI must update this review. 8/28 I took the 3 boys for annual checkups and immunizations needed. I got a bill. Hmm preventative care doesn't usually bill out because it always has a 0 deductible with my plan. The bill is for a behavioral exam, which they asked us to take. I though I was helping their research. My children are happy boys and those weird questions had them thinking of kids not eating and abuse. I will opt out. But they never mentioned they would be charging for this weird questionaire just charged for it. That is not it. There was another charge. I called the billing office to find that the provider said that they diagnosed my son for asthma. That is odd because my son has had asthma for almost 10 years and had an active prescription from this same facility every 30 days. He was in soccer so I did ask the practitioner to send another script to the pharmacy and they charged me for this. I asked to dispute it. The billing specialist told me she would get with the office and return my call, which she did. What she said was alarming. He was properly charged for this diagnosis/testing or whatever they claimed happened during this visit. I am requesting the file for the visit on 8/28 because I am sure this facility is defrauding its clients and the insurance companies to make more money. When I asked the billing specialist what next, she told me that I could dispute it with my insurance company but they are only going to pull the provider report which states he was treated or diagnosed. We asked for his script to be sent to the pharmacy, that is all. He had an active script at this same office and he's had asthma for a decade. We have close friends with asthma and we have dealt with this for a long time now. There was nothing new shared in that visit that they are charging us for. They didn't explain anything additional about asthma. They didn't do any additional testing. I am going to report this medical upcharging to my insurance company and the PA Medical board immediately after reviewing the providers notes that they said I will be able to see in the portal tonight. They did nothing for his asthma except send a script to the pharmacy. I want to see what they said they did!
This practice continues to disappoint. I had vitals taken in February 2023 and when I had t gotten results I called. They said the dr would get back to me. Well it’s now December and i never received a call. Second had to get physicals done for kids sports. They said they would fax it and I paid. Well no fax received at the school so I drove back to the dr and picked it up despite paying. Lastly I have a sick son tonight. Dr said she would send the script to the pharmacy. 1 hr later no script and the pharmacy is closing. I had called them when the pharmacy told me they closed in a half hour but waited there in vain for them to fax the script again with no success. I have to take my sick son back out when they finally return my call an hour later when my pharmacy is now closed. I have to send the script to a 24 hr pharmacy and take my son on the road for another hour, maybe more, just to get his medicine. This facility is a joke and I have no idea how they are board certified. Every time we go it is a...

So hi everyone, for those of you who know me know that I recently had my first son, Hayden in October and he’s knocking on 4 months soon. My son’s pediatrician was at The Wright Center in Jermyn since that’s where my PCP is as well. Well, since my son’s birth, I have had nothing but the worst of issues with this office.
1.) Hayden was switched from Similac Advanced to Similac Alimentum because he was becoming constipated.
2.) Ever since his formula switch, he constantly was spitting up and throwing up at least an ounce each feeding which kept him hungry. His pediatrician suggested that we burp him after each ounce he drinks and sit him up for 30 minutes after he’s done so it helps his reflux.
3.) December 7, 2023 Alex Olsen and I took him to the Wright Center for a 4th time that week because he was showing signs of congestion, coughing, sneezing, and sleeping a lot more, and wasn’t wasting as much.
4.) the 3 doctors that looked at my son before he saw the 4th doctor all said he was fine and that his congestion was normal. The 4th doctor, Dr.Bryan, was the ONLY one to save my child’s mouth to see if he was sick with Covid, the flu, AND RSV.
5.) my son came back positive for RSV and two days later we ended up in cmc because his breathing worse. CMC gave me a script for a nebulizer and gave Hayden a steroid shot to help him fight off.
So, that was all within last year. Alex and I took Hayden to the doctor the other day because we made the decision that Hayden’s formula needed to be switched because not only was he still spitting up, but now he has eczema all over his body.
We went to The Wright Center where we had to explain to three different doctors who ARE NOT my son’s pediatrician that we were getting his formula switched. The pediatrician finally came in and it was anything but a nice appointment.
DR.MANJOU THOMAS does NOT care about first time parents. She talks over Alex and I the entire time and belittled us. She tried to tell me that Hayden’s eczema had gotten better since the last time she saw him, EVEN THOUGH IT SPREAD TO HIS BACK! I didn’t back down though and told her I wanted his formula switched. She gave us THE HARDEST TIME ABOUT IT. She insisted throughout the whole appointment that Alex and I were just being paranoid first time parents and that my sons in perfect health. Then she also went to say that if we were to switch his formula this time, she WOULD NOT switch it again.
I have never felt so small and disrespected in my life by someone. Yes, I am a first time mom and I’m paranoid, but I KNOW MY KID, SHE DOESNT! Alex and I ended up reporting her to a supervisor and I hope something is done about it, but I won’t be taking Hayden back there. I’m so beyond disappointed with today’s doctors. I was belittled and laughed at like I was just some idiot who doesn’t know anything about babies. I hope no parent has to go through what I did. I’m just so upset and fed up.
Yes we got Hayden’s formula switched and he’s doing...
