This is an awesome hidden gem with an amazing walking trail behind the power plant. I definitely recommend visiting at both day and night as the falls are lit at night. Take the time and visit this area, you will not be sorry you did.

I stopped for the vintage (Old Number 6) Baldwin 2-6-2 vintage steam locomotive. And then I found more, including this powerhouse, built in 1924 for the Gorge Dam further upriver from here.

Well worth the visit. Many visitors to the North Cascades will probably not find this hidden gem. At first glance it looks like a Danger No Trespassing area. Once you walk across the bridge there is a network of trails in the woods back to the falls. Great spot to check out during the day and night when they light...
