Enjoyable setting for hiking of all levels. The well maintained trails range from a mostly flat shorter nature trail that follows the creek bed to more strenuous trails that are constantly climbing with little or no shade. Many trails are dog and kid friendly. Many trails have spots with high-powered viewers to see into the distance. Plenty of parking available throughout the area as well as paid and...

A beautiful drive through Cave Creek, with a few stops and short hikes. Abundant wildlife and still a few spots where water was moving (slowly) The perfect day trip. It was about a 2 hr drive for us. The Chiricahua Mts are a hidden gem. Checked out most of the camp sites and each one had its own ambiance. Never saw another soul as we hiked around. It was the perfect...

We didn’t come up with the nickname, but we get it!🏔️ This sky island rich in biodiversity, in the remote reaches of Arizona, is home to Cave Creek Canyon of the Chiricahua Mountains and Coronado National Forest. Here you can hike, observe abundant wildlife, find world renowned birding, and amazingly starry night skies!🦜🥾🌌 🚮Please remember to practice the Leave No Trace Principles when visiting. There are many stewards of the land here that work hard to keep the area beautiful and safe for wildlife 🐻 There are lots of wildlife in this area! Please drive with caution and be alert on trails 🥾 We hiked some of South Fork Trail along Cave Creek. This trail is easy to moderate depending on your hiking level 🥾 We hiked up to Sliver Peak. This is a hard hike! We recorded 10.3 miles out and back with over 2,880 ft in elevation gain 👖 We recommend wearing pants on both of these hikes. There are a lot of over grown sections 📱Check our saved story highlights for more details • • • #arizona #hikingarizona #explorearizona #nationalforest #portalaz #visitarizona
