Dollar General — Local services in Arlington

Went in to get face moisturizer with my friend because I ran out this morning. My friend had a cart because we planned on getting several items. She was interested in getting the same moisturizer as I was so I told her to feel my face to see “how soft it was” when a lady ran out from the back and approached us saying, “I hope you know you’re not supposed to use the products unless you’re going to buy them.” It was very awkward and made us both pretty uncomfortable. Firstly why would someone come into a store with a cart just to put their fingers in a jar of moisturizer and leave without buying it? That’s gross. The lady continued to say how it “looked a lot like (we) opened the jar and started putting it on”. Just a very weird thing to accuse people who are clearly shopping of doing. Made us really want to leave honestly. It’s unfortunate because the manager of the store is a very nice lady as well as many other of the staff, the store is clean and has a good variety of items for a good price. Uncertain about whether or not I’ll be coming here next time I need moisturizer that I can’t seem to find...

The store in East Arlington has been closed for 3 days--Fri sat and Sun--are you kidding me. There was a note on the door they were closed due to staffing issues--Im sorry but what are the manager and district manager doing, shouldnt this be their responsibility? I called Sat before I just jumped in the car, and its a good thing I did, after calling 3 times someone finally answered with an attitude saying they are stocking as much freight as possible and they will be opened on Sunday. I called today with no answer 5 times--I guess they are still stocking shelves. When this store was run by Kat White they were always open and the store was clean. Since she and her staff have left this store is a complete disaster.The District manager should really put more effort...

There has never been an employee at the register in the 30+ times I’ve been in this store. Any customer who wants to check out has to go on a chase and usually finds an employee after yelling to the back office. The store aisles are trashed. My last visit was 30 minutes before closing; nobody else in the store, brought my items to the register, waited a few minutes, nobody showed up. Wandered around the store to find an employee with zero results. I put all my items back, went to walk out the store and a woman yells ‘aren’t you going to purchase anything?!’. I just shook my head and continued to my car. Unbelievable. To make this store worse, they got rid of self-checkout, so there is always a huge line and avg checkout now is 10-20 minutes after an...
