Motor City Antique Gallery — Local services in Ash Township

This store is very clean and organized and has some of the best REAL antiques my friend and I had seen in a long time. Not a lot of new “live laugh love” type stuff. Prices also very good. Unfortunately I had to knock down a star for the check out experience. One of the employees somehow kicked the power off to the one and only cash register. It took about 15 min to come back online, and then the credit card reader had issues where it spun for about 5 min. There was also some off putting hostility going on behind the counter with different employees. We ended up coming back to buy a couple more items and they had called the vendor and gotten us a 10% discount on the items. A different cashier rang us up this time and she was quite short with us and we didn’t get an itemized receipt. Luckily we asked for it, because they didn’t apply the discount. I'm giving two stars because they have decent tin/porcelain sign selection (most larger antique malls have NONE).

However, here's a word of caution, I spotted a couple Chinese reproductions being sold as genuine too... If you're crazy enough to pay their exorbitant prices, I hope you can spot a counterfeit sign, when you see one.

To touch on the prices more, the place is a museum (but not in a good way). The reason these signs are still hanging is for 1 obvious reason: NOTHING and I mean NOTHING in that place is priced to sell. Apparently one dealer got greedy and everyone else followed his/her lead.

This Antique Gallery has lots of booths that people own and rent out, and they are really nice! I've gotten great items there! The people who work there are A-MA-ZING. They always help out and they are always so nice! Inside, they have a booth were you can but snacks, get a drink of coffee, a bottled water, and more! They even have two little tables with 3-4 seats each so that you can sit while you eat! If you have an item that is too heavy, you can go up to the front counter and drop off your item!
