This review has nothing to do with the races
but the flat Rock speedway yard sale they do 2x a year. It was awful the setup was ridiculous, the time of the event doesn't make sense. So we live in Flint and drive 1.5 hours to come down for this event. It starts at 7 am on a Sunday and ends at 3 pm. The major complaint we had was the setup of this event. Very poor execution and timing Not only that all the sellers were so overpriced on just junk, knick knacks and the other customers there were very rude would literally walk in front of me and cut me off clearly seeing i was there even some of the sellers. It was just awful in general
I sat this as I'm disabled and use a Large walker to get around with severe mobility issues. If you have any kind of mobility issue or disability avoid this at all costs. The setup of the yard sale is on a large gravel area into the speedway. My special walker has 10 inch wheels and I was having to pickup the front of my walker to get thru the gravel area. I'm in so much more pain than usual due to hitting my knee caps, my yours and ankles on my walker from the loose large gravel that i was unable to safely navigate.
Going into the speedway around the outside there was 0 room for my walker to walk to look at the sellers on the outside of the track and it was on a large hill that was so hard for me to even try i ended up skipping that part Now into the track part of the sale. This is the most ridiculous setup I've ever seen They have the sellers on top of the track and at the very bottom of the hill that's a 45°angle. To use my walker i had to hold all of my weight up on my arm and walk sideways carrying my walker basically
I was tripping myself and bashing my feet, knees and ankles so much it's excruciating
I suffer from severe nerve pain, back pain and for and ankle issues Myself and my family will never come to this event again And please take my advice off you have a mobility, injury, or handicap DO NOT GO TO THIS EVENT I'm in so much pain from everything...
Read moreWe came out to the flea market event, and all went well except a few things. My husband and I are in electric wheelchairs and a couple of areas had excessive stone that the wheels had great difficulty traversing. The big problem, though, was a vendor setup outside the track that insists on setting up boxes that block the ability to travel safely alongside the fence. When asked for help to move the boxes, he insisted that he couldn't move them, that we would have to go around. He said sorry, but if we have a problem to complain to management. Which I did. One of the nice people from the flat rock historical society went over to Ron and told him what happened.
I've been using my wheelchair for 11 years and never complain, I usually find justification for whatever is wrong, but this time, there was no justification. Every other vendor left a path for people to get through easily while still comfortably displaying their...
