Elmer's Community Center — Local services in Ashfield

From the new Wicked Good Café (2025): this place is so good. Fresh baked breads- I had toast and baked good, great (ok, it's our family recipe) pancakes, eggs are on point, cappuccino, and the home fries left me so satisfied. Check them out, visit often, Wicked Good Cafe at Elmer's Community Center. I would have offered a photo of my Kind roll... but it was the last one left and so has met it's delicious destiny. A photo that continues the good tradition of connecting our community is attached-our bulletin board.

An old review: Kind and helpful. Fresh coffee was offered to me. I was able to wait today, but some patrons while I waited were not. Typically, I couldn't wait at 10 in the morning, an admittedly tough time of day to decide to make a pot. I hope they opt for half pots at least until noon so we're can grab and go from this cozy...

The owners of the store were going to cater our wedding as well as host the event at their inn next door. We agreed on a date and were told that we're on and things seemed set. After multiple emails and voicemails left with Florencia over the last 6 weeks, times when they asked me to call back after I called them, saying they would call me back soon and never did, I’ve decided to sever ties. Everything looked like it would go well but their total lack of returning a phone call or email over the last six weeks makes it feel like they are unreliable. Feel free to go eat at their restaurant but if you’d like them to help plan and organize any larger events be warned, their lack of communication...

Elmer's is a classic. Not only is the food reliably delicious (what on Earth do you DO to that strawberry jam??), but the menu is HILARIOUS. Back in the early 2000s I brought one of the menus back to Texas to reference for a linguistics class, and everyone in the class thought it was brilliant. On my most recent trip, I spent the first ten minutes just chuckling over the new additions to the menu.
