I debated for several weeks about leaving this review before I didn't want to be "that person" and I hate leaving negative feedback but I feel it necessary considering the amount of money I spent to receive nothing like what I wanted.
I wanted to take my hair teal again, was told it would be no problem. At no point during the prep did my stylist express any concerns about whether my hair would bleach out enough or hold color. I was reassured it would be no problem.
Immediately when I got home I noticed a halo ring around my entire head where the color was different, faded almost. I thought maybe just a trick of the light at first but after washing it the first time that ring became extremely obvious.
I contacted the stylist about this and was told and I quote: "Ah dear, I was kinda worried about that area. It was a more brassy color after lifting it, where the darker was!" She offered to make me a color mask using color conditioner but I had some of that myself, she told me to try it and let her know. Tried it. Contacted her that it didn't work and it was even more obvious, and wanted to know how we could fix it.
Keep in mind, I noticed the ring of color when I got home from the salon, that same day but thought it was a trick of the light. I spent $196 on half colored hair, and she had the nerve to tell me it would be another $70 to fix.
I understand that accidents and mistakes happen, but I feel that if you as a stylist have concerns that someone's hair will not do what they're asking for, it's your job to say something beforehand and if they tell you to go for it anyways, then it's on them but at no point did she tell me she had concerns, not before, not during, not after.
Only after I told her that I didn't think it was fair that I paid almost $200 already, and no concerns were expressed on her end prior, so I didn't think being charged another $70 to fix it was appropriate, did she offer to fix it for free.
At this point, I'm so frustrated with this whole situation that I simply don't trust her ability to fix it, and don't trust it not to...
Read moreI saw Chris’s work on instagram and just fell in love. I drove over two hours to make the trip to get my hair done by him as you can’t get prices this low for hair work where I live in the city. The salon was so cute and each person I met was very welcoming. I love how each person who works there gets creative freedom with their area really helps to see each individuals personality and creativity shine in their work space. I gave him creative freedom with my hair with a few must haves for my lifestyle and he delivered. New hair just makes you feel like a confident person again. It’s been almost three months since Ive had my color and I followed his home care instructions and it’s still just as vivid and bright and has never felt healthier especially after having to go through such an in-depth color process. I highly recommend him and his work to anyone seeking a fun, safe, clean, well priced place to start making their regular...
Read moreI’ve been going to Rachel Tussey aka beauty by rachel for two years. AND let me tell you, girl does not disappoint. I leave feeling beautiful and never hold back tears while she’s showing me the aftermath. She’s just that good. not only does she do amazing hair, her personality so bomb. Maybe just even book her for a friend! She’s funny, and so so sweet. If you want conversation, you’ll have it. if not don’t worry she will not force you to talk to her. (If that’s how you roll). As for the salon itself, it’s very clean and well put together, everyone is friendly. most importantly they have Rachel Tussey!! BOOK...
