Before purchasing at Rick’s Utility Sheds, may I suggest that you first read my review? I am not what you would call a “reviewer”. Actually, I probably reviewed less than five times in my whole life. But I felt compelled to make you aware of what I experienced when dealing with this store. Let me try to state the facts. We ordered Finch furniture of over $9000 on 4/21 and Mr. E.F. as well as the owner were very helpful and friendly. As a matter of fact, Mr. E.F. (the sales person) helped us to choose the right furniture even the store had just closed at 5 pm. (Note: My wife and I had spent the previous 2-3 hours looking at the furniture and then waiting for Mr. E.F. to free up as he was the individual who had helped us during an earlier visit.) When I inquired if the furniture be delivered prior to Memorial Day, Mr. E.F. told us that we would get our furniture within 3-4 weeks but definitely before Memorial Day. We called the store a few days before Memorial Day to inquire on the status of our delivery and were told by a female employee that nothing would be delivered sooner than 5-6 weeks from the date of ordering. No apology was offered but simply that 3-4 weeks was unrealistic to begin with. On 6/1, I called the store again and managed to talk to Mr. E.F. who informed me that he would reach out to Finch to inquire and would get back to me on 6/4. So far, so good. Having not heard from Mr. E.F., I called the store again on 6/6 to inquire and left a message with a lady in the store as Mr. E.F. was busy with a customer. I was told that Mr. E.F. would call back the same day. Having not heard from Mr. E.F. by 3:30 pm on 6/6, I called and did manage to reach him. Here's how the conversation went with Mr. E.F.: He told me that he is not responsible for making sure that the delivery happens in a timely manner as they have a clear notice at the bottom of their invoice that the manufacturer will determine how fast furniture gets shipped. He also told me that the warehouse would call me as soon as it is in. When I asked for a phone number of the warehouse, he told me that they cannot be reached. He also told me that he is the only person in Sales and that, rather than spending time with me on the phone, he could have supported other customers by now. He further told me that he actually did me a favor for staying after close on 4/21 as he could have easily left since he is not paid on commissions (somehow Mr. E.F. does not seem to fully grasp the fact that it is customers such as us that pay his salary and keep the lights on). As I asked him why he did not call me back on Monday 6/4, he said that he cannot follow up on every single call as this is the busiest season of the year. Not once did Mr. E.F. apologize for the delay or the inconveniences but rather told me implicitly to sit tight and wait. In short, if you are looking for extraordinary customer experience, do not go to Rick's Utility Sheds. While they have good quality furniture, they do seem to have a hard time dealing with a busy season! Buy your Finch from another more reputable place! To add, I decided to call Finch that very same day and found out that the furniture were actually delivered to Rick’s! It’s kind of funny to think that Mr. E.F. could have easily avoided this review by checking with his warehouse! But then again, that would have required someone who is focused on customer...

We had safety concerns about a swing set that was purchased with installation through Rick's. My wife called to ask if someone from the company could come out and take a look at the set, because we have some concerns about the safety of the swing set installation.
Emmett, who takes my wife's call and was also the person we used to buy the product originally (along with two high-priced outdoor adirondack chairs), proceeds to tell my wife it's going to cost $150 just to take a look at the set at our home.
So she asks why the cost, as it may have been installed improperly. The response is that the set is only guaranteed for 6 months. But the set itself is not the issue - we're not asking someone to give us a new slide or rock wall for the thing. The issue is how it was originally installed.
My wife asks if she can speak to a manager or someone else about the issue, as Emmett is clearly not interested in helping her. At which point he gets defensive and says: Only God is above me (Who says that to a concerned customer who has spent thousands of dollars with your company?) That Rick himself was on vacation, wouldn't be back for a week and wouldn't care to call her back anyway And then he said the swing manufacturer wouldn't want to speak to her or help her either (Rick's resells these sets that are made by various companies)
Never before has my wife been treated so badly by someone who is supposed to be a representative of a company to a customer. If it's worth it to Rick's Sheds to alienate people who have spent significant sums of money (and would be referrers of new business) for a measly $150, that tells me the company doesn't have its priorities straight or isn't aware of their sales/customer service reps reading from their own script whenever they feel like it.
I assure you this company was in the wrong for the way they treated my wife. In fact she feels like she was mistreated on the phone particularly because she was a female caller. She was not abusive in any way on the call or overly demanding. She was just trying to get safe use out of a product that we chose to purchase through this company.
CONCLUSION: RICK'S IS NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER PLACES TO FIND OUTDOOR SWING SETS AND FURNITURE. FOR ANYONE WHO VALUES CUSTOMER SERVICE BEYOND THE INITIAL SALE, YOU WILL BE WILDLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS COMPANY. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND...
Read moreI am posting this for my wife and this is her words...I am in sales & Emmit is the absolute worst sales guy ever. and also very arrogant After going there a 2nd time with my husband with over $8000.00 cash in my pocket since we had a quote for 8100.00 for a 12 x 20 stone front shed from our previous visit and we were also told if we pay cash we would get a better deal since my brother spent over 10,000.00 there as well. We get around to closing the deal and asked for the bottom line cash price from him (not at all haggling), he gets up from his chair as if he was going to ask his boss & then says I don't want to waste my boss's time so what do you want to pay, I then say whatever the bottom line cash price is we will pay (literally ready to make the purchase) he asks again saying he don't want to waste his boss's time again (how about our time since we are the potential customer?) I then say "I think how this works is you give me your best price and we make the purchase if we agree with it?" (the way people have been making purchases forever if I am not mistaken)...he gets angry and says the bottom line price is written on that quote and there will be no further discount?? Honestly, it was hard for him to mess this sale up since we were 100% ready to buy and drove there a second time when it was 45 min away. I guess Rick doesn't mind losing $8000.00 + sales if this is the idiot he has working there as his top sales guy. When we asked to speak with his boss he said " I am the boss" I do think his boss was there but stepped out to help another customer unfortunately before the incident. I seen other people (mostly woman who he seems to have an issue with) all having complaints about Emmit as he says to 1 lady when she asked to speak with someone else "ONLY God is above me"....I guess it should be called Emmits Sheds since only god is above him and Rick must be okay with the way he...
