805 Boardshop — Local services in Atascadero

We are established Atascadero residents with deep roots in our community. We are Atascadero small business owners as well. Today My husband and I visited 805 BoardShop to return an item we purchased as a Christmas gift. With receipt in hand, and definitely within the "30 day return window" we were turned away without the option of a return or store credit. The snobbish customer service boy was short and very unsupportive of our return inquiry. Apparently if the merchandise "Tags" that accessorize the attire are not returned with the clothing, 805 BoardShop will NOT honor ANY in store credit or return. This is completely absurd and uncommon business practice. Has gentrification begun with 805 BoardShop? Is our small, tight knit community becoming a "Hypercenter" with big city return rules? My family typically spends upwards of two to three hundred dollars a month at 805 BoardShop. My family is involved in local surf camps and skateboarding functions. We always recommend our local Surf/Skate shop when our friends fly in to catch waves during spring/summer. As of today, we are disappointed in 805 BoardShop. We feel swindled and shocked by 805 BoardShop. Unfortunately my family will begin to shop at a local competitor. Moondoggie's in San Luis Obispo offers a guilty free return policy and Moondoggie's would never treat hardworking local Americans in this fashion. Stopped in here today to see if I could get a fair priced beginner board that would be more practical than my penny board as well as some new grip tape for my penny board. They had hand sanitizer at the door and the owner was wearing a mask. The owner was very helpful and didn’t make me feel inferior for not being super knowledgeable about skateboards and also being a woman, which is something I usually get anxiety about when I go to skate shops. All of their prices were really great and they gave me an awesome deal on all the parts which was amazing. Also got some free stickers! Bonus!
