We got married at Erickson Farmstead and overall, it was absolutely beautiful and amazing. The grounds and the buildings are just absolutely gorgeous! It was the first venue we toured and I was head over heels. There are so many beautiful places for photos and I loved that you could have the ceremony, dinner and reception in different places! It allowed each part to feel special and different. I also loved that you could use vendors of your choosing. They have a list of recommended but at the end of the day, the choice is yours! Dennis, the owner, was incredible to work with. He always responded instantly to any questions I had and was always so kind. You can tell he genuinely wants couples to have a perfect wedding day on the farm. One thing that I think is a downfall to Erickson Farmstead is the fact that they "soft close" the reception barn and farmhouse at 8pm. They boast about having access to the entire farm on their website but don't mention that. This means that after you get ready in the Farmhouse, you have to move EVERYTHING to the porch either before your ceremony or between the ceremony and reception because the house gets locked at 8pm. My bridesmaids were running up and down the stairs to get everything moved to the porch between the ceremony and reception and it really took away from the experience of wanting to enjoy that time with our wedding party. Also, after your dinner and before 8pm, everything has to be cleared out of the Barn. If you don't hire a day of coordinator to do this for you, it means that the family member(s)/friend(s) that you ask to help with this misses some of your celebration to do this. Another thing that bothered me a bit is that you have to pay extra ($90) for a handicapped accessible restroom. I think that is something that just should be included. Erickson Farmstead is not a cheap venue and I just feel the above mentioned things were a bit bothersome for what you pay. Obviously, I still chose to hold my wedding here but just wanted to include all of my thoughts and give the most honest review possible. Our wedding went flawlessly until the very end of the night. After our wedding was over, a bunch of family and friends were loading everything into vehicles. During this process, they shut off all the lights on us. Not only did this make things more difficult but it made it more time consuming. We were using cell phone flashlights to try to see what we were doing. We had vehicles pulled up near the Farmhouse and reception area to get everything loaded and right when we finished, the coordinator assigned to our wedding by the venue rudely told us we needed to vacate the premises so they could leave. I understand that they probably have weddings where conversations like this become necessary but this certainly was not one of them. We had lots of people helping to pack up and nobody was hindering that process. So many of our family and friends spoke to me later about how rude they thought the venue staff were at the end of the night. It really left a sour taste in my mouth which is incredibly unfortunate because the rest of the day was absolutely perfect. They seemed miserable that they were working and projected those feelings onto us on the biggest day of our life. Overall, Erickson Farmstead is gorgeous and I highly recommend them. Dennis was wonderful and our wedding was beautiful! If the situation wouldn't have happened at the end of the night, I would have absolutely...

Where do I begin, from the start this venue caught my attention because of all the beautiful locations within the grounds. It won my heart over with the outdoor dance floor, the stunningly beautiful dining tables, and the small details. They are one of only two venues that I found in the state that allows you to have your dance outdoors, which was everything to me; I wanted to dance under the stars. Like everyone getting married this year -Covid was an issue, but Dennis and Elizabeth were so amazing about everything. Because we were outside and there is no maximum capacity on a huge outdoor farm, we were able to have our wedding as planned, with no where near as insane cuts as other venues were making couples do. Dennis was so calm and collected with all of my concerns, my stresses and even my mood swings. I can't say enough how awesome they all were. Every time we had a concern or an issue about Rona or what could happen, they were there with solutions. If you have any concerns, just call them, they are more than willing to talk to you and talk you through anything and work with you to figure everything out. Communication is so important and I am so grateful that they were so easy to communicate with. The day of the wedding went off without a single issue, honestly there wasn't anything that I noticed that was off. Everything was set up exactly how we spoke it would be, even including last second changes. The grounds are so beautiful, the house was perfect to get ready in, only thing I would suggest if you're doing peak heat season wedding bring a couple more fans for upstairs. The staff the day of was so helpful, even the day after we forgot a few things and they were there to help me out finding them the next day. If I were to do it all over again, I would still do it here. I am now trying to come up with any other reasons I can for us to have a get together at the farm. It was perfect for us too because we don't live to far, and had the after party at our house. There are a couple hotels in the area, but make sure you book the hotels early if you do book the venue. Thankfully most of our friends and family live pretty close so there as no worries about lodging. We also had our three dogs as part of our wedding, and being able to have them there made the day just that much more perfect. Honestly, if you are questioning it, don't. Go with Erickson, you will NOT regret it. Because of Covid, we had to move some tables outside, but because there is so much you can customize to make it your very own, we had our sweetheart table outside as well, in-between both areas that our guests were seated and it was perfect!

The grounds are beautiful with so many perfect photo spots, there is so much decor and furniture included, the dance floor is amazing, the owners are like family, the coordinators are so helpful, it is family friendly, there is so much to do and so much room, they provide yard games, the location is perfect, everything the day of was so stress free and I owe that to them. There was really nothing I can complain about. It was the perfect venue for our...

I recently got married at this venue and honestly it's a pretty place when your looking at the surface of things. BUT, the house is full of a lot of stuff. Which most likely is old and not functioning. It is IMPORTANT for the family to do a walk through BEFOR GUEST ARRIVE. The venue claimed damages contently after we brought but the damages on guest clothes. After my wedding I was informed many guest and party member outfits were stained.

Being mostly outside I it looks like a good idea but if it rains your stuck in the dinning hall. Luckily for us it was just windy. Mind you being outside it's important to have everything looked at twice since our toll in the dinning hall had been up for a while. I notice during dinner there was a large pile of dead bugs collecting on the dipped parts. Wish I had my photo on me because that was just nasty. Like people were eating and setting underneath there.

Thirdly the venue seems more than happy to post your private moments all over their page without calling for approval. I had to ask our photogher to take the photos down. Since we do not wish to be associated with the venue.

My family was reeled in with high hopes and promises that they were better than other places. Lets just say they fell short. Oh also do the walk through with Dennis one of the owners and video the whole thing. Because I promise you he will turn around saying your guest broke something that probably never worked in the 1st place.

SAVE YOUR MONEY & STRESS & DON'T BOOK HERE. I'd be happy to share my story. (P.S. I will be checking on my post later to see if it was removed. The reviews are "polished", nothing is perfect and there's always a few bad comments on everything making them more honest reviews).

My mom posted about her experience here and is now being told what happened is untruthful. Honestly were just trying to share our experiences and let everyone know that there's alot of work that this business needs to work in. Additionally screen shot your contracts ecause they will make changes and from my knowledge alter the original one instead of making a new...

As an artisan and merchant I really appreciate this venue and the family that owns and operates the Erickson Farmstead. The property itself is beautiful, and the amenities true to the simple elegance of a classic mid-western farmstead that's been lovingly restored. The service is always superb and extends to both the guests and vendors that work their events. The property is a photographer's dream, and having a single location where a couple can get married and celebrate all in one location that doesn't look like every other corporate meeting venue or golf club really sets up that "once in a lifetime" experience. Their recent choice to support the local artisan and craft community who have found their normally busy spring + summer market schedules disrupted by COVID-19 was a particularly generous gesture. Offering an affordable and super flexible "come as you are able" pop-up market format was GREAT for their vendors and partners. However, it exposes the farmstead to both costs and potential reputation risks if vendor attendance was poor. Reviews of the venue based on individual experiences at a lightly attended pop-up market without the appropriate context considered could unfairly tarnish the reputation of their event business. It says a lot about the dedication these folks have to the community that they chose to proceed even in the face of these risks, accepting the potential financial and reputation risks in order to support their community and vendor partners struggling with the impact of COVID-19 on their businesses. Give the Erickson Farmstead a look for your next wedding, family reunion, corporate retreat, etc.. It's truly a unique venue run by a wonderful family that is deeply committed to serving it's guests and local community.

BEST WEDDING VENUE!!!!! Seriously, I can not say enough how wonderful this venue is. The moment I toured Erickson I KNEW that this was the place I wanted to get married. They are so accommodating, understanding and wonderful! They truly want what's best for the couple and we could definitely feel that during our own planning process! Plus, it's already SO pretty that you don't have to do a ton of decorating since it's so beautiful as is. You also get to choose your own vendors (food, drink, etc) which was a HUGE win for us since some places that make you choose their caterer end up being very expensive. They want what's best for their couples & truly love what they do and it shows. I could not recommend this venue more if you are looking to get married in Minnesota!!! Love, The Murphy's
