I had the absolute honor of visiting the grounds of Tyler Perry Studios, and the experience was nothing short of inspiring. While this is a fully operational film studio with tight security, just standing outside those massive gates, seeing the sign that reads ā€œTyler Perry Studios,ā€ felt monumental. The studio is incredibly close to the Atlanta airport—less than a five-minute drive—so if you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend taking the detour to witness history and greatness firsthand.

Walking the grounds with my 70-year-old father was especially moving. The profound significance of the location hit me—this land, once a site of oppression, is now owned by a Black man, a testament to God’s power and how far we’ve come. It’s a reminder that no matter what happened in the past, our futures can take a completely different direction if we dare to dream.

Everywhere I looked, I saw Tyler Perry’s name, a man who came from brokenness and is now a beacon of hope and empowerment for people of all walks of life—Black, white, Asian, LGBTQ+, old, young, single, or married. His work carries a powerful message: You don’t have to remain stuck where you are—you can become something greater.

I’m beyond grateful for the vision behind this massive studio, for the city of Atlanta that helped inspire it, and for Tyler Perry himself, a man who never gave up. Just being on the grounds, even without stepping inside, was enough to check off one of my top life goals. And now, my next goal is to attend one of his red carpet events—not to be in the movie, but just to witness the continued impact and legacy of his work.

If you’re looking for inspiration, take five minutes out of your day to visit Tyler Perry Studios. You’ll witness greatness, history, and the unwavering belief that anything is possible if you just dare to believe.

From the beginning when we got there, we were met by a nasty and very rude security officer. She was an older african-American lady and she was quite condescending to me and my mother. she told us that we were not allowed in as it being private property. But then she continue to say that we could not even take a picture at the main entrance in front of the gate with the sign that says Tyler Perry Studios. Not even a selfie. After that we drove around and we did take just one selfie so we can get a picture of the gate. On our way out of the studios, we were rear ended in an accident with another Tyler Perry Studios employee. We were rear ended and had to pull over on the side of the road with this person. we are from out of town and we had to use a car rental so we were on hold the car rental and we were waiting for the police for an hour and a half. But the gentleman who rear ended us, Mike, was a saint. He was patient enough to wait until the police came and offered us cold water since we were hot. After Mike and the police officer left, we discovered that our car battery was dead and would not start. We walked around for 20 minutes trying to find a bathroom and no one would even allow us to use the restroom. There was a deli nearby with a man Who refused to let us use his restaurant unless we agreed to pay for some thing first. we later called Mike back and he sent a friend Paul. Paul was kind enough to sharpen his pick up truck and give us a jumpstart so we can make it back to our hotel. Paul helped us jumpstart the car and even when my mom offered him a tip he refused to take the money. Despite some of the callousness we were faced with from other people around the area, the employees mentioned were really nice and helped us get back home. Big shout out to Paul and Mike. we’re really grateful...

I just called the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta Georgia. Since they do not disclose the correct address, I decided to call first. I simply spoke with the receptionist, a black female, asking if I sent a letter to Tyler Perry, will he receive it. Of course, she asked what does it entail, and I did explain. I explained that I was a student for the disabled and the blind. The purpose of the letter is to confirm his availability, for my school project. It's important for me to speak with a producer, just for me to ask questions which will help my project. I could have spoken with someone else, other than Tyler. The lady did say that due to legal matters that he won't be able to answer questions. I understand that it's a legal matter to them, however, I was trying to get her to understand the questions that I wanted to present. The black female continued to over talk me, was very rude, and ignorant. She never gave me the opportunity to ask her a question regarding a different matter. She continued to over talk me by saying Tyler Perry will not answer any questions, Tyler Perry will not answer any questions. I see why they say when it comes to Black businesses, we are highly unorganized and unprofessional. Yes, I hung the phone up on her because she deserved it. Tyler Perry please hire a new assistant who takes the time to comprehend what a person is trying to ask them. That rude person whom I spoke with, is a reflection of you. Why? Because she...
