I was referred here to Howard’s for a line-x job for my JL by my fiancé’s Master Chief. Spoke to Chris the week prior to the appt. very pleasant and easy to talk with. Then things took a weird turn…story time.
7am April 8th 2021: Quoted line-x for 450 and said it should be done same day and I could pick up next morning. Never got a call about problems for installment of line-x.
April 9th 2021 at 10am: Was told the job couldn't be finished and that the price was 680 bc of labor. (Which I get but that should have been communicated before I walked in. Never was called at all about issues or extra charges.) Was quoted labor and all the week before at 450. When I called at 10am on April 9th, was told 2hrs and I could pick up. Told them I could pick up that evening or next day but had to work so needed it that evening if possible. Went to pick up at 3pm. Wasn't finished and was told that they stopped my job bc I told them I didn’t need it till the next morning. Rushed to put everything back. When I got my Jeep back, they installed the seatbelt wrong, broke my hardtop and did not install all parts back. There was still carpet in the back bc they said they “couldn’t spray back there bc there are sensors.” It’s a Jeep. You can unplug the one cable and spray behind it and plug it back in. I asked my Jeep guy if that was true….it’s not. My Jeep guy builds mine and he’s been building Jeeps for years and was hoping to use Howard’s for the rest of his Jeep clients.
When I complained about the job being half done they stated that they couldn't do it. Would have been nice if they called the day they got her apart and saw that they couldn’t do the whole job. I wouldn't have left her there. It will cost about 500 to remove product and another 500 to get the correct one reinstalled. They told my fiancé they didn't use line-x but rather a powered coat.
My fiancé went back a week or so later, bc I was waiting for a response about whether or not Chris could spray the carpet that was left. (Chris told me he had to call corporate to ask. Thought they were privately owned and he was the owner?) Also wanted to asked what would have happen that would have broken my hardtop. (I still would like to know how my hardtop got cracked.)
My fiancé did not make another appointment bc when asked about why things got broken, he never received a straight answer, which being in the service for as long as he has, doesn't make him any happier. He was instead given the blame game and stated that we were the ones that cracked it. I was going to personally be ok with coming back to Howard’s bc I know accidents can happen but the lack of communication and the blame game was not ok.
Overall I felt like they just wanted to push me out the door and assumed bc I was a younger and a women that I wouldn’t care if the job was half done or understand what was going on. The lack of communication between clients needs to improve and the blame game...
Read moreI have used Howard's Tinting for many years and have referred many people to them because Chris, when he was tinting, providing excellent service and results. I recently took my vehicle for window tint. It was a terrible job (bubbles were huge and all over windows). I called after I left the shop to express my dissatisfaction and Sam totally downplayed my feelings/opinion and told me to let my car sit in the sun for 3 days. I called back after 4 days and was told by the receptionist to give it a week to week and a half. After that timeframe the bubble became smaller but there were many fine hard bubbles throughout tint. I called back and spoke to Sam again requesting to make an appointment to have my window redone. He stated I needed to let them see them before he would schedule an appointment. After taking vehicle back I was able to schedule an appointment for re-tint. Re-tint was better but still not the my satisfaction or the work that I am use to from this establishment. I requested to speak to the manager, Chris, on every occasion but they always stated he was not available. I will never take my cars here again or refer this...
Read moreI made an appointment a week ahead of time and explained I needed to have my truck tinted with the old tint removed. They could only fit me in on a day I had to take off from work. When I arrived for my pre-called in a week appointment, they told me they couldn't do it because it was going to be too much work and they didn't have time. They explained that I would have to come back another day when they could "get to it". I only got my two front windows done because that's all they had time for and I wasn't going to take off work for another mess and lies. I ended up leaving after the two windows and went down the road to CALDWELL TINTING where they got me in right away.
CALDWELL TINTING was able to get my truck done same day and even gave me a discount because Howard's tinting treated me so badly. PLUS, Caldwell tinting is cheaper by about 50$ and they do windshield tinting for 80$ not 125$ like Howard's.
Bottom line, if you want mediocre tinting with higher prices and people who don't care, then go to Howard's but if you want incredible tinting, cheap prices and quick-service go to Caldwell tinting...right done the...
