I arrived at the location at 6:52 AM there were about 29 people in front of my husband and I. There was a Certified chef who greeted us with free Sprite, watermelon, pound cake, and some other Starbucks items. The table had canvas bags on it free for customers. Then, we were escorted over to the area for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Glenn Hills High had an entertaining selection they played. I don't know who the DJ was but he understood the assignment with the best music.
The store seemed like the size of Costco. As soon as you walked through the door, floral was on the left and a line for Starbucks on the right. I'm a fan of Boar's Head premium products the Sweet B's BBQ Chicken Sliders was delicious. Every major vendor had food or items to give away. Country Pleasin' had the best Pork and Alligator sausage buy one, get one free. I loved the cheese station and the lady on stilts walking near the deli area. There were three mascots walking around to take pictures with a Coca-Cola Polar Bear, Danielle, and Paul.
Now, I'll say this you will shop and accomplish your steps goal. I put in 3,006 steps just walking around the store. Every department associate was friendly and helped maintain the cleanliness of their area. The store had giveaways you had to scan a QR code and the winners will receive a call on June 8, 2024. Kroger used Microsoft forms it was simple all you had to enter was your first and last name, phone number, and email address. All of the prizes seemed to have a $100 and up value like several large gift baskets, Monster Energy cooler, and a golf bag.
There were some upsetting things that happened. The mayor didn't show up for the ribbon cutting. The store seemed short on staff because I saw some employees from the Columbia Road location. I noticed vendors who didn't want to be asked questions or unknowledgeable about the product. The vendor who shouldn't show up ever to a grand opening again was the Core Power Milk and Proteins shake the lady couldn't tell us anything about the product. Sparkling Ice had free Starburst drinks you could try the coupon wasn't working properly at the checkout holding up the line. There were 26 total registers in the store the majority were self-checkout. The cashiers seemed to have about one week of training if that only saying that by the way they addressed concerns.
Overall, I had a great experience at the new Kroger location. I'm certain Walmart on Deans Bridge, Target Robert C. Daniel Jr. Pkwy, and Fort Eisenhower Commissary will see a decrease in business for the next few weeks because of what this store has to offer. Kroger picked the perfect store leader for this location with prior military experience. Thanks for the $5 gift card and all of the freebies! The store has everything to offer after you read this review just get in your car and head over there don't blame me if you're in there...
Read moreI really don’t want to start complaining about you guys because people need to work. I’m just wondering why a teenager (I hope) is standing by self-check out screaming “Ooohhh SHE STEALING” as I walk out; several weeks ago. And most recently, Christmas Eve (December 24), I decided to go through a regular line because I had too many items for self-check out. The young lady rings me up and the young man places my items in the cart. Neither person is being super friendly but it’s fine because thats not my concern, I’m just glad they’re able to assist me. I got to the exit and the alarm goes off. Then I go outside where I’ve parked pretty far away because there are so many cars in the parking lot. I hear the wheels start to lock on the cart and it is difficult to move, I left it further away (which puts more work on your employees) instead of returning it to the proper cart area. I would love to know what prompts your employee to scream like that, why the alarm went off and the wheels locked up. I’m not going to assume because I could be wrong; however, I will continue to come back to your store to get a clear understanding of how you operate and see if you’re truly discriminating. Please be careful with how you handle people and make sure you know for sure that a person is stealing before you make false accusations; I’m quite sure you know what this leads to with the right person. Treat EVERYONE equally!! Please and thank you. I love to shop at any Kroger store. Unfortunately, this is the first time I’ve had to deal...

I have shopped here frequently and an older cashier asked if I was looking for part time work. I said yes, but only nights and she recommended I apply because they needed people.
Application process was easy and I was called in for an interview. Interview went well even though the person that did the interview wasn't the hiring manager and retraced previous words 5+ times to make it seem like he was taking notes lol cool guy though.
My issue is with the hiring manager. She calls, offers me a position, and states that the system is down on her end so she would be reaching out to someone to send my offer letter the same day. I waited all day and received nothing. So I called the following day and was told that she was unavailable, but was willing to take my email. I left my name and email with the associate on the phone and never heard back. Checked the Kroger site multiple times to see if I was hired before giving up.
Fast forward a week and a half later I get an offer letter that is 5 days expired. I call and ask for the hiring manager and she has the worst attitude. Speaks as if she doesn't believe that I just got the email. Claims that she sent it herself even though she told me the system was down.
I did my part by following up, but her attitude was the worst. On the 18th she said she would call back once she figured out what ĥappened. Never...
