Anytime Fitness — Local services in Austin

Just moved to the area from the Chicago suburbs where I frequented a local AF. This one is much bigger, great natural lighting/windows, and so much more equipment (and more bathrooms, yay)! Everything is kept in nice order and clean. There is an outdoor area to flip tires or push sleds - something Midwest locations wouldn't have had much luck with.

Fellow members are respectful and don't take over weights/machines if you're already there (brownie points) and I haven't encountered any Hulks thumping and grunting around.

The manager is active/present and wipes down cardio machines even if you've just used them (instead of expecting you to do it) - I commend that! I also like that I'm not "forced" to return a greeting every time I come/go which is something I ran into at the IL location.

Other comenities.. The towel service is on point - always stocked and fresh. They have a scale and body fat machine, which are nice touches for independent progress checks. There are storage cubbies for any belongings and a bench to get prepped. The window shades are a nice touch so you're not roasted/blinded during daytime hours. They rise as the sun drops so you can enjoy beautiful Hill Country views.

The parking lot is pretty sizable but I haven't been during any peak times that I know of, so in my experience, parking isn't a worry.

Extremely dissatisfied! We've been trying to cancel our membership for 4 months now, and it's been a nightmare. Nobody answers our calls, and when we visit the gym in person, there's no one there to assist us. Despite not using the gym, we're still being charged monthly fees. The lack of customer support and apparent disregard for member concerns is ridiculous. We've tried everything to get in touch with someone, but it seems like they're intentionally avoiding us. The fact that we can't even find the owner to resolve this issue is unacceptable. Unless they seriously improve their customer service, I'd advise others to think twice before joining. We're stuck in this frustrating situation, and I wouldn't wish it on...

It's one of the larger Anytime Fitnesses in the area, they offer other things compared to the North location one. There is a towel service and vending machine here for your use. The set up is nice, you can watch traffic on 2222 from the cardio machines. Parking can be a bit of a pain at times when it's peak hours. The owner seems to live here though, he is here all the time regardless of the hours. The machines are well maintained, there is a great area for mat work.
