It's a beautiful facility though for what we pay in taxes in Arlington -- it should be. I played indoor soccer here in early January as part of an Arlington league. The gym is beautiful, and well appointed, but for indoor soccer -- not a particularly good solution. The boards are setup by hand, inside a basketball gym. As such the ball often leaves the surface and goes behind the boards. This requires someone to hop out, run out, and grab it. Also several of the glass panels are missing... requiring more getting out and retrieving. This would probably be fine but the fact that the doors to get on/off of the playing surface stick, don't easily close (it's really, really hard to close the doors) and don't lock, well that's a recipe for injuries.
Also parking stinks. It's for pay, but only after 4 hours. Buy you have to go in and out of gates, and take a ticket. This just slows down the ingress/exgress. As there are only 3 slots in or out -- when you have games changing over, in addition to all the other activities here -- it can be amazingly crowded.
So. The facility itself would be 5-Stars if it were yours alone. I'm taking off a star due to cost (again Arlington/VA charges ridiculously high property/business taxes -- both of which I pay) another star deducted due to parking, and a star lost due to the indoor soccer setup -- which is frankly jury-rigged and amateur. If you're coming here for a workshop or other I'm sure it's reasonably fine (let's call...
Read moreVery nice facility. Most of the staff is helpful. I was disappointed, though, because I arrived there for a meeting, and pulled up to the parking ticket machine and got a ticket and immediately dropped it somewhere. I was actually late for the meeting because I was searching my car, and the area around the machine, etc. I asked two people inside and they said to just push the button when I leave and ask for assistance. So, I did. The attendant then told me it would be $22 to park. I had not even been in the building for 45 minutes. Now, I get it, if you lose your ticket, you pay the max fine. Sure. But the funny thing was - the parking was FREE that day/night for whatever reason. All of the other people at the meeting I was attending did not have to pay, but I had to pay $22. I could understand it if there was a charge, but if no one else had to pay anything, I'm not sure why I had to pay...
Read moreCame here for a Covid test, which I had an appointment for from 2:30-3:00. I arrived at 2:00 and waited in line for 2 hours outside. Finally got my test around 4 and it was super quick. Staff is amazing. They make the directions clear and are constantly checking up on people waiting in line. Make sure to bring a jacket and stay warm. Staff is doing the best they can under the circumstances and are so kind. Recommend coming here for a Covid test if you can manage...
