I purchased (3) triple play (3 games) each for myself and my 2 nieces 8 year old & 12 year old. The first game was great, my nieces had a blast! The second game was really different, an incident happened right after we all watched the video and we were waiting to get inside the room to gear up. Some of the players seemed to be drunk or on something. Those 1 or 2 players were very loud and acted crazy. They were having an inappropriate conversation out-loud with the game master and using foul language. I don't understand why the game master let this happen and continue? One of those two were cussing out loud for about 10-15 seconds straight, and another GOOD player/customer said out loud "HEY, HEY, HEY, there are kids here, watch your mouth." I was busy talking with my nieces and couldn't believe what I heard. I told the game master, they better watch what they say or I will do something about it. The game master, should've stopped those players from breaking the rules, but a customer had to do the game master’s job? I thought the game master was going kick them out but they let them play. Those crazy guys watched the intro video, KNEW the rules. I was concerned on what my nieces heard/learned and their safety. When the game started and we were all inside those guys were running around and cussing, again breaking the rules. I couldn’t believe that the rules weren’t being enforced. I played another game with the kids with different people. To top it off, a new player accidentally bumped her laser gun on my youngest niece’s face. That player apologized to me and to my niece. I wasn’t mad at her at all, it was an accident. I had to leave the game arena with my nieces. A different game master saw and reported the incident through the radio. I had to rush my niece to the girl’s bathroom. She went in alone to wash herself up, I didn’t see no staff member jump in to help, first aid or ask if she was okay. I left the building right away and rushed my niece to a good friend/doctor. My niece had an open cut on her face. I told all my friends about this incident and all of them said that they won’t be taking their kids to this place anymore. Ultra zone is NOT enforcing the rules nor caring about the customer’s safety. I can’t believe how unprofessional some employees can be. They just hire anyone. I used to come here, when I was little but things have changed. I will NOT be coming back to this business, a waste of my time and money. If it was possible I would rate this place no stars.
Incident date: May 5, 2017 Time Frame 9:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Who should i contact regarding this incident?...
Read moreAppalling. Succinctly the best description I can use to describe this overpriced, understaffed, overcrowded piss-scented warehouse decorated with strategically placed black lights.
After calling ahead to reserve space, my friends and I were delighted to hear accommodations were made and enough color coded armbands still remained for the last 4 members of our group to allow us to play together. However, between reaching in my pocket to pay for entrance and signing the receipt I was told that they only had 3 remaining. In the time it took for the manager, a high school sophomore, to come over and tell me she lacked the ability to open a drawer and get more armbands another one of our reserved colors was sold right in front of us. Fortunately a different color armband was available, and was virtually unused so the four of us bought it. However when the others attempted to exchange their old armbands we were told the pack of twelve new armbands had mysteriously vanished. Needless to say we never got to play together, defeating most of the point of coming.
In the four hours I spent trapped there trying to justify my non-refundable $20 "all night play" I engaged in a total of three 15 minute games. One of which I took part in merely because a woman was nice enough to allow me into another half empty group, although, again, not with the other half of our friends. Occasionally groups would be combined but after about 12:30 am I gave up.
Judging by the age skew consisting of a slew of unsupervised 9-year-olds I figured this place was more Chuky Cheese than Dave and Busters. Maybe my friends and I weren't the target demo but the over priced $1-per-play arcade machines and empty beer bottles floating in the toilet said otherwise.
I was hungry the entire time but the place cares about as much about convenience as they do sanitation. My options spanned heat lamp taquitos at the 7-11 down the street or an individual pack of gushers fruit snacks for (no exaggeration) $2 from the vending machine. Party rooms with tables were set up but I'm not sure who they were for - definitely not the paying customers, because when we tried to sit we were told to leave even though none of the three rooms were reserved. Later we were told we could order pizza, although I'm not sure where we would eat it unless we sat on the change machine and used air hockey game as a table.
To say this place is terrible is to pay it a compliment. I understand there are few diversions in The DMV area for good wholesome fun, but if this is your last resort you're better off shining laser pointers...
