We moved away from Kitsap for six years and while family was visiting my husband was like, "We HAVE to take them to Bainbridge Gardens." I was like maybe we skip it? OMG, I am so grateful we didn't. Although the garden part is sparse due to the season, you will be missing out if you don't go inside and indulge in the holiday delights that await. We always get several of their amazing varieties of potpourri. The ornaments and decor were beautiful! It is the perfect place to sip a hot beverage and shop for items small or large, inexpensive or expensive, they have something for everyone. They also have a LOT of bird items (decor) which is my favorite. Now I can't wait to go back, and I live just over the bridge. I can only imagine how my family will feel. Bainbridge Gardens has a rich history--the Harui family has the most expansive choices of trees and plants as I have ever seen. With more than fair prices, and infinite knowledge of the plants they offer, any time spent there is a treat. The staff quickly becomes "family" to those of us who've gone there many years, and they are warm and inviting to newcomers. Plan to spend some time to see the beautiful grounds, and all they have to offer. Their water displays are exquisite, the people are great, the plants are beautiful, healthy, and come with lots of personal treatment for care of the items you buy. Bainbridge Gardens is a treasure, like the man who founded it, Junkoh Harui, who you can learn about in the library and other important places. A large nursery with lots of variety of plants organized into different areas - flowers, shady garden, ground covers, vegetables, etc. There are covered greenhouse for different kind of shrubs, maple trees, etc. In the back, past the store there are open areas where many different trees can be found including fruit trees. There are also plenty of garden decorations, water fountains, as well as pumpkin patch as it was near Halloween.
