Canton Overlook — Local services in Baltimore

The location is great and the building itself has potential — newer design, modern appliances, and a solid setup. But that’s where the positives end. The upkeep is a mess. Hallway floors stay filthy, the building constantly smells like marijuana, and trash pickup is inconsistent. The back area near the dumpsters looks neglected, which attracts rodents and stray cats.

Parking is another nightmare. There should be more spaces around the perimeter without the risk of being towed for nearly a thousand dollars. One time, after parking in the back while having guests over, I walked them out and found actual rodents on my car. That was the last straw.

Management seems more focused on talking than actually fixing things. If they spent half as much time addressing real issues as they do behind the desk, this place could easily be a five-star spot.

I’m only giving two stars because of the newness and location. The staff? Hit or miss. Cleaning? Barely. Respect for tenants? About 50/50.

Would I recommend it? Maybe — but only if you’re patient and humble enough to overlook poor management, bad parking, and inconsistent maintenance. Hopefully management sees this and, instead of getting defensive, actually makes a change. The building has potential, but the upkeep...

Started the application process early December with intentions on moving in April (current lease was over in April). Everything appeared to be moving along (credit approval) and the staff was very friendly. However, they started to give me the run around. I would call to check the status and it was always an excuse and they would say that they would call me back the next day when they could pull my "file". I'm not sure if they were too busy or what happened. Now About 3 weeks away from my lease being up at my current apt, and still no move-in date or anything. They called me to see if I was still interested?? It's been over 3 months since I started the process. They claimed that they were waiting for information from my employer and previous landlord. I talked to both and that wasn't the case. I applied somewhere else and was approved the next day (they needed the same information).

My girlfriend and I recently took a tour at Canton Overlook. We had no appointment and it was super busy in the office. The phone was going off constantly, and there were a few people waiting. But with that being said, the management staff was super welcoming and told us if we waited a few minutes, they would gladly take us on a tour. We walked the property and it was absolutely beautiful. My girlfriend and I immediately put in an application.
