I am simply in awe of Kevin’s work. I brought my mother‘s antique wedding dress to Kevin with nervousness and excitement as I needed BIG changes done. Kevin gave the warmest welcome to me, happily accepted my mother’s precious antique dress, and assured me that it would be in great hands.

The dress had been in storage for a long time, it had huge yellow stains on the skirt which confirmed my decision to remove the skirt and have a whole new one made and attached. The top of the dress fit well, besides the sleeves which restricted me moving my arms up and down all the way. The waistline needed to be taken in a bit as well.

I lived in Maryland for the entirety of the time Kevin had my dress in Maine, and he kept in contact with me, giving updates. I admit that throughout planning the wedding and my nerves I had a few different sudden changes I wanted made and Kevin had no problem doing that for me while being understanding and kind. Kevin also left a few options for me to see on second fitting, including a small train (which I had originally said before I wasn’t planning on doing but wasn’t sure). He also kept some shoulder detail on the dress before cutting it full halter style. I appreciated these options being given to me as it added so much character. Kevin’s taste is great.

The day of my wedding, I was showered in compliments of how romantic, victorian, timeless my dress looked. These were the exact words I had in mind of how I wanted my dress to appear. Kevin took my inspiration and simply ran with it. I was called a princess all night and felt like one too. Because of Kevin’s hard work, I was marrying the love of my life in a dress that not only looked amazing, but meant something special to me.

I literally cannot recommend Kevin enough. For context, my husband and I were struggling to find a tailor who could alter his suit to his size, and the interactions I was having during our other inquiries were not making me feel hopeful for either of our garments for our wedding. We were about ready to go to Portland. I reached out to Kevin hoping we could find someone local to us, and let me tell you, he is an absolute gem!! He responded quickly to our inquiry, was super flexible about my weird work schedule (only having one day open during the week to come for fittings), and was a joy to interact with. Walking into his studio, you instantly feel like you could be friends. He makes you feel so comfortable and his confidence is so reassuring. Even better, his work is insanely good and he worked within (what I would consider) a relatively short timeline, only a couple months to alter both our garments for our elopement. For the first time (I think ever!) my husband has a suit that actually fits him that he loves, and I think it will be used for formal events for years to come. Kevin took my wedding gown (that had some really weird construction, boning and lace overlay) and cinched it to me like a glove, taking it in to accentuate all the perfect places. I have received so many compliments on the dress, and I guarantee it's because of him. His work is incredible and his demeanor was a breath of fresh air. Kevin altered my daughters’ dresses for this past years prom. He did absolutely amazing and was completely professional! Not only was he able to alter 3 dresses, (one being a little more complicated with hand beading), but he was able to fit us in for 1 fitting with short notice and a pick-up,(about a month). He wanted to do a second fitting but unfortunately we couldn’t make it work. I was a little skeptical at first as a was not able to be at the initial fitting as I had a newborn. I called to tell him my thoughts for the dresses, but for him to use his best judgement as well, since he is the professional… he amazed me! My girls were a little self conscious since it was their first time having to do any alterations, but he made them feel completely comfortable. That is very important for me. (I definitely called while they were there to double check). Anyway, the dresses were done to perfection! They all fit my girls like a glove and were absolutely gorgeous! Especially as he only had 1 fitting to measure everything. Kevin surpassed my expectations and my girls LOVED their first alterations experience! I HIGHLY recommend him for all your alteration needs!
