Asian Palace II — Restaurant in Bangor

Let me preface this review by specifying it is take out only! If you wish to eat here, expect to pick it up or have it DoorDashed to you!

A friend, my partner and I ate here. We had General Tso’s, Sesame Chicken, a large order of Crab Rangoon (12 count!) and Chicken Lo Mein. As per usual we all like to try a little bit of each others food.

The General Tso’s (which was mine,) and Sesame Chicken, while visually similar, tasted pretty different. Unfortunately, the chicken to breading ratio was more towards the breading than chicken. Great taste though.

The Chicken Lo Mein was supposed to have no onions and no mushrooms, but somehow a little bit of both worked their way into it. Again, however, the taste of the Lo Mein was good.

The Rangoons were definitely good, but again, it’s another one of those ratio situations, except it’s filling to wanton wrap and there was not enough filling.

Overall the quality of the food was good, not spectacular but not bad by any means either. The actual prices weren’t bad, not like some other restaurants in the area. I would recommend if you haven’t tried them yet. I will probably give them another go and re-write this review...

First thing to know is their food is legitimate and very good.

However they’re not a typical Bangor chinese restaurant in that you get less food and it’s more expensive than most.

I got an order of their steamed dumplings and an order of their fried dumplings and it was around $27 for two orders of very small but well made dumplings, compared to one of their competitors that’ll give you 8 large dumplings per order for around 5 dollars less.

You’re paying quite a bit more for slightly higher quality and much less quantity.

Overall if you’re really hungry for some Chinese food you’re probably better off ordering from a place that’ll give you a bunch of food for less.

0 stars! First hint should’ve been no cars in the parking lot! Walked in to a very messy and dirty establishment! My daughter just came off a plain and was hungry so against our better judgment she ordered. My husband and I didn’t. She had to use the bathroom. She said it was dirty and smelled really bad. No paper towels to wipe her hands. As we were sitting in the chairs that were ripped and nasty she busts out with an ewww, there was a man in the back but in plain view of us, mixing a white gooey paste stuff in a barrel with his bare hands and arms!!! How this place got a 4 star review is way beyond me. I read the review of someone getting sick multiple times and I can believe that!!! My daughter did not eat the food. She didn’t dare to.
