The Lodges at Eagles Nest — Local services in Banner Elk

My wife Tamara and I are currently in search for the best mountain community to retire too and I am pretty positive we found it! Erica, Lisa, Derek, and Ben have been the greatest hosts to us that anyone could ever ask for. We have been looking throughout the entire US and abroad to find something that meets all of our needs and Eagles Nest at Banner Elk meets if not exceeds them all.

We need security for when we travel (it's a gated community), we wanted hiking and biking trails (there are many here very accessible..... even know we still have not found the "water falls", you can ride horses, ATV's and hike), we wanted access to a golf course and a private airport (it's available), we wanted access to fishing (Elk River is one of the best), we wanted the true mountain life with all the amenities and it is most certainly here! Who can argue with a Wine and Cigar "tree house" at 4,000', a weekly mountain concert in the mountain amphitheater with all the food, beverages, and homemade pizza you can enjoy, and a small campfire that you don't even have to tend too, they do it all for you so you can just relax, listen to music, and enjoy yourself. There is a fire going 24/7 at the Grand Pavilion with.....all the marshmallows, Chocolate bars, and Gram crackers your little heart desires!

We looked at many different land and home ideas and Derek is the best when it comes to building your dream mountain home -- Derek most definitely will be building our Dream Home. His attention to detail and area knowledge is beyond reproach and he surely is the best at what he does, not to mention, the friendliest person you could ever meet!

Why do we love the Eagles Nest at Banner Elk - everything they have to offer and more.........

Amazing community with really nice homes on the mountain side with plenty of space, quiet time and things to do. Be careful though to ask about construction. Some sections still being built. We stayed closer to top of the mountain for the views, peace and quiet. Certainly was the case. The home we rented was like new and very well built with many options to enjoy from an upper back porch, to an outside fire pit. I love outdoor lighting and this home did a fantastic job lighting the grounds. Kudos to the home owners. Family fire pit night at the home with some drinks a cigar! You can enjoy a lot of of activities and things to do right in this community.

It's fun to drive up and down the mountain!

I only leave 4 stars do the horrible smoke. 5 stars for the home. It's not the homeowners fault. We had a lot of construction smoke billowing up the mountain right to our back porch/yard. They were burning trees and leaves and it was so thick and unbearable coming up that part of the mountain we had to not be outside. They really need to put that out and not leave that burning all weekend but hey..it is what is. Change of wind and we were then ok, lol. We really enjoyed the home, the grounds and the peace. Had a lot of fun there and all was like new and...

While the cabin was great, the staff at the eagles nest was awful. Directions given by the rental property stated to dispose of trash at trash compactor on site, which I did. After getting rid of the trash I was leaving the property. We reach the gate and a staff member named Cody yells down my truck pointing and yelling with my wife and two toddlers in the car. We pull over and he is accusing us of illegally dumping and had even gone far enough to call my employers number on the side of my truck, potentially causing issues with my employment. After speaking with him and getting through his disrespectful and snide remarks he realized that there was no reason he needed to go as far as he did when a simple conversation would have resolved any issue, even so there was no apology or attempt to right his wrong. We paid 4000$ for this rental cabin just to have one of their employees play rent a cop . Wouldn’t recommend it. If anyone at eagles nest reads this review, would love...
