My family and I visited New Orleans a couple of weeks ago and we decided that a fishing trip would be necessary. Louisiana is known for its world class fishing and people from all over the world head there to fish. I wanted to get a redfish off of my fishing bucketlist. I arranged our trip through Captain Colby and he was very professional and courteous throughout our whole communication. They arranged for their driver Owen to pick us up in New Orleans and drive us to the dock. At 6:00 AM breakfast was already prepared and we had a huge meal of biscuits, eggs and sausage. At about 7:00 am we were ready to hit the water. Chris Ledet our guide took us to a nice spot 30 minutes out and set up our gear. Once the 4th rod was cast it was instantly hit by a 27" bullred (Birthday girls first time fishing and first cast ever). Throughout the day we enjoyed our time with Chris and he put us on to MANY fish. His company was enjoyable and he was very professional. We will never forget our experience fishing for redfish and blackdrum in Louisiana and it is all thanks to Griffin Fishing Charters. This experience made my wife and my cousins even more excited to try fishing back here in California. When we arrived back to the dock a feast of shrimp po' boys and hush puppies awaited us as the crew cleaned our fish and filleted it. That same night we took some of our fillets to Oceana Grill and they cajun blackened our catch for us. Fresh redfish cooked right in New Orleans. AMAZING experience. I will never forget it! Thanks you so much for making us feel welcome and putting us onto some fish! We even threw some back. Since the fish were filleted and cleaned we were also easily able to bring it back to California and share with our friends and family. I brought my son there for his birthday present. I am 75 and my son is upper 50's. October 14, 15, and 16, 2016.

Actually my wife and I were here 2 years ago for the same fishing trip in April, we caught the limit on Speckled Trout. My son and I arrived on Friday afternoon and had a nice clean room to stay in. For supper we had jambalaya and roast chicken. The cook was a very good Cajun Cook. We got up at 6 a.m. Saturday and had eggs, sausage and biscuits for breakfast and then we went on a six-hour fishing trip. The Guide was Justin and he knew where to find the fish, We caught red fish and speckled trout. Justin's boat was very nice, clean, fast and had great loud music, I loved it. When we got back to the camp Justin cleaned all the fish and put them in bags and iced them down in our ice chest. We had Red Beans and Rice for Lunch with Bread Pudding. We took a shower, relaxed and watch football games on TV. For Supper we had Seafood Gumbo and Home made brownies, boy could she cook. We departed the next morning (Sunday) for home in Central Alabama. If you like to fish and like great Cajun Cooking then this is the place to come to. They provide everything, no need to leave. We arrived Friday afternoon to the lodge our instructions to get into our room we’re texted to us by Colby. We were put up in a spacious 3 bedroom 3 bathroom upstairs space. Everything was very clean and tidy! The fridge was stocked with waters, and sodas, there were snacks and candy bars also for us to eat whenever we wanted. The food was AMAZING first nights dinner was a huge piece of lightly blackened redfish with shrimp and crawfish ettoufee. The next morning breakfast was made for us before the charter left at 7am. We hit our slot on redfish and also hit some large catfish and black drum. Once arriving back to the lodge lunch was waiting for us while our guide filleted all of our fish. Lunch was a large beef sandwich on the most delicious French bread. We didn’t have a car on-site so our captain Colby helped us by going to grab us some drinks we could enjoy in our lodge. They also packed and shipped back all of our caught fish to our house! Our last dinner was delicious chicken and sausage gumbo. I can’t rave enough about this place.
