Went in looking for a product ask for help hesitant but got some help by two individuals one new and other was an employee since the new store opened when I ask for help finding product they didn't quite know what I was looking for and assumed they didn't carry it I went out to get bottle to show what I needed the young man took it from me walked around and handed it back saying they didn't carry it and the young lady stated if they carried it it would be in a certain section no we don't have that product then she saw what I had in my hand then realized yes we do have that here thanked her proceeded to check out wasn't offered a bag so I carrying my new item and the one I brought, In my arms spotted something else to purchase made my way to the register and the item was double in price from which it was on the shelf I challenged the price it was wrong in the stock on the shelf and the tag was also wrong she was confused and went on to explain that last week everyone was out with covic and the tags didn't get replaced as planned so I couldn't get the item as marked but she could let me have it at one dollar more than the wrong price ( wasn't only one item out of place the shelf clearly had more there so it wasn't mistakenly put thereby mistake stock was put away) matching the tickets w shelf's inventory only price was wrong not product so I felt I should have been honored the price but was turned away not making the sale she then rerang my paid for items not only the one o purchased but the one o brought in as well I explained I had already paid but I wasn't offered a bag so she said let's fix that and bagged my items and said if I wanted to call the owner that was my perogitive that it was his store and if he wanted to honor the wrong price he could but she wasn't ( I understand that she did as she felt was the right thing to do, but was it in the long run loosing a sale is one thing but loosing future sales is another as well as other customers because if anyone ask me my opinion of the new store the bad taste in my mouth of my experience there will come out good or bad people will share either it will increases or decreases business that's the bottom dollar) now was it really worth the lose of that sale and the customer? Ace is the place to be! Thanks so much for allowing me to express myself and good luck with your present employees and by the way the young man evidentially thought this was humorous he was snickering the whole time glad it was amusing! The young lady was very professional and respectful I do...
Read moreI was excited to see a shop that could work on my Mahindra tractor. It is closer than the shop I have been using in Athens, GA. That excitement ceased the first time I used them.
The people there were nice enough, but not very honest. I gave specific instructions about the service. They were even written on their work order. They ignored the instructions and when I inquired about why, they stated they didn't have a reason why. I found myself stuck with a bill that was several hundred dollars higher than I had previously paid for the same service at A & H Tractor in Athens. I had asked for an estimate before the work began but they rolled on ahead without providing it and I paid the price for their mistake.
The communication was also poor. They did not call with the estimate, they didn't call me when it was done and didn't even return my call when I contacted them (as they said they would).
They did finish the work in a timely manner, but all things considered, I will spend a couple extra hours and go back to A & H, given that they have better service and much better prices. Very...
Read moreI shared this comment with my friend, the owner's father-in-law. "Tell that son-in-law of yours that this is coming from a 70 year old man. I came from the days of the old mom and pop hardware stores when service inventory, etc. were never an issue and nowadays it seems to be an issue ever time I head to Ace, HD, Lowes and even the very few remaining mom and pops. That is until I go into True Value Barnesville. In all my years I have not encountered a better top to bottom hardware store. The folks he's got working there, the service, inventory, rental inventory. I could go on but you get the point. I've not met Jason or your daughter but look forward to making their acquaintance one day. Hard to believe anyone in his generation has what it takes to put together an organization that does everything right." Do yourself a favor, stop by the next time you need...
