Vanguard Tabletop Gaming — Local services in Barnstable

Vanguard Skills, across from Barnstable high school near Butler Sporting Goods, is a table top gaming store complete with board games, mini’s, TCG’s, and everything you need for your game night.

The owner, Sean, offers his gaming space to anyone who wants to try new games or have new experiences. He has a variety of table top games at the shop ready to be played and enjoyed, he hosts weekly tournaments of Magic The Gathering with raffle prizes for those that attend, there is also a learn to play for Pokemon and MTG where those who are new to the game can get a free deck to learn to play.

Currently he has card singles for sale(MTG), packs/boxes of cards for MTG and Pokémon, binders and boxes, sleeves, and a few other goodies in his shop. Then there is the mini room. It is filled, wall to wall, with minis, paints, storage and all the tools you need to create and play. Upstairs he has a paint room complete with airbrush station and drying racks. This is the next gaming destination for the Cape. Sean is a teacher first, committed to making people comfortable with games and giving folks of all ages and backgrounds a place to be included, whether it's tabletop games, RPGs, card games, miniatures, this place has the resources and continues to expand. This afternoon we got the chance to visit Vanguard Tabletop Gaming with our son who really likes the Star Wars Unlimited card game. We have been to other shops like this and they have all been great but with this one we were truly blown away by how many people were there playing whatever they were playing. We won't pretend to know about all the types of games out there. The owner, Sean, went out of his way to allow our son to go through and pick out some common cards for his game.
