I was born and raised on Cape Cod and often treated like someone who doesn't belong here, but this was blatant and outrageous. Flagrant 2!!!
We arrived around noon with my husband who was taking me out for lunch, which we haven't done in a long time because we're always working or doing something with or for our son.
We sat at the bar stools. There was one patron there at the time he was outside on a phone call.
The bartender stood at the register, tweeting or fbposting and smiling at her phone. We were seated for a good 5-8 minutes, remember there is no one else in the place except for us and her, before she sauntered over to us looking very annoyed that she had to wait on us. ( I am not exaggerating this in the slightest).
She placed drink napkins and my hubby asked what I wanted to drink. I declined because I was already uncomfortable and did not want her to serve me. Hubby ordered a bottle of beer.
She did ask if he wanted a lime with that. :) that's why this place gets one star. Hubby asked for menus. She ignored this request and went back to her personal business (busy on her smartphone). He waited a moment and said loudly, "can we get a couple menus down here?"
She looked at us and said, "there should be some right there" and pointed in front of where we were sitting.
I said to hubby, let's go somewhere else. He agreed and he finished his beer, walked down to her to pay the bill.
As we left, I dialed them to get the manager on the horn to discuss. She answered and said she was the manager. I questioned that and she clarified she was the bartender, manager and waitress. I said okay who is the owner, Christian she says and that he'll be in at 5:00. She then said, "is there some problem, you were just in here right?" I told her that was problem #2 (her asking me in that manner).
I asked for the last name of the manager and said thank you to which she replied.... ready? "Have FUN with that!"
Now, we have been to B & B Pizza more than a dozen times before and mostly had uneventful experiences, meaning we were served in the way you expect to be served and spoken to in a respectful manner.
There is no way we will ever be going in there again, I'm sure she's glad of that and smiling right now because that's just how she came off.
What's happened to the...
Read moreBad form Smee… Bad Form!! So a party of 8… eating indoors, big money order right? A few of us, repeat customers. We had all spent the day on Nantucket and two of us had upset stomachs (gluten intolerance on top of it). The two girls just wanted some lite soup so they decided to go get soup from a local restaurant. They felt bad about breaking up the party so they showed up at B & B with all their friends to eat their soup with them. When they got there, the rest of the group had a huge varying order placed with apps on the table. Wings, pizza, wraps, French fries etc.. A tab of at least 200 plus dollars. One of the gentleman in the party went to the counter to ask permission for the girls to eat their soup. The owner copped a serious attitude… even though all that food and beer and drinks had been orders. The girls felt so bad, they took their soup and left. What kind of business owner let alone human being does that?? There were 6 other people ordering large amounts of food! Would he have copped an attitude about a birthday cake or cupcakes??? Two of them men in our party were both previous restaurant owners and couldn’t believe that this was the attitude he took. Now you’ve lost valued loyal customers and future revenues not to mention damaged your reputation as a business owner. Yes, the food is good but do you really want to support Captain Hook? No stopping me this time Smee, no...
Read moreFor sure a local place. Not a ton of seating but got there at 6pm and found one no problem (maybe fits 20 people). Server was also the bar tender and seemed to be swamped with take outs. She did okay but didn't seem to have any good suggestions for what to look at (assumed you knew what you wanted when you walked in because we were asked what we wanted twice within 5-10 minutes of sitting down).
All four of us got different pizzas, meat lovers, pepperoni, garlic chicken, and a custom pepperoni/onion/green pepper. All were good, not stellar, but good. Price was on point. Math on the ticket was a little odd (math was not correct but maybe tax was on it too?, zero labels). 15.75 for a "small" pizza and a Guinness on tap. Small pizzas are 9" and are more like a medium sized pizza and the larges are 16" pizzas.
There were slice deals on the wall but the server didn't mention those and we had already ordered. If you want a good pizza for a decent price, this is a good place. Service wasn't stellar but she was busy. Would eat...
