This fair is always good. Unfortunately, they advertise that they accept debit cards. They do NOT. Which did cause several issues while there, like going without hand-dipped corn dogs etc, and other activities. ATM signs stating that there was one in the office. It was out of service. So, choices were to just walk about, everyone hungry, thirsty, and unable to shop, play, and ride. (Which we had to do) OR leave to go find a working ATM, get cash, go back to fair and again, pay the 13 bux per adult, and the kids cost which easily used up the hundred dollar bill I brought. They, in no way, would allow that, no stamps or wrist band proof of entry paid. Nope. Couldn't even take a short(er) cut to point of entry to cover the other family in a different car. Had to walk completely around the horse grounds or whatever it's called. We all look forward to getting together for this fair so it really did bring us all down and...
Read moreThis fair was a bit of a disappointment. I understand the entrance fee. I dont understand the extra fee for each event in the grandstand. Horse racing, derby, etc... you have to pay for each event. Isn't that what the entrance fee is for? Or a whole day grandstand fee? The worst part was the rides. Unliminted ride wristbands were only good for four hours. There is only one ticket booth and they will not sell them in advance. So, we spent 40 minutes of that time in line to get the wristbands. Then all the lines for rides got long at the exact same time because everyone got wristbands at the same time and we could not get on a ride one minute after even though we were in line before time was up. Unless... you buy more ride tickets! Lol!!! It felt like a bunch of stunts to make more money. The food and other stands are great and the animals are...
Read moreMy first time to this town and it was a very good experience. The town, though small had everything to sustain you and family without going too far. Coming from Brainerd it wasn't a bad trip be sure to have gas in your car though, you wouldn't want to be that person that ran out of gas to or from. The county fair was very good none the less, I thoroughly enjoyed everything they had there to show and tell, eat and drink. The bingo games put on by the Solomon Lodge was very good, best i've seen in a minute, very orderly. The grounds was adequate for the events that were happening, good "paid" parking spots, RV spots, lots of rest rooms, ATM's, shaded areas, etc.. It was a good environment for both young and old, there was something there to keep you engaged. Next year with definitely...
