I wanted to take the time and share my experience working with Wickstrom of Barrington. I had been debating for a while whether or not I should purchase a new car and one of the draw backs for my hesitation was that the car buying experience never seems to be an easy process. That was until now….
I had previously owned a smaller SUV and was looking for a newer, larger vehicle. I had been in between the Grand Cherokee and the Durango. I found a few different options that I liked and there were both at the Wickstrom dealership. Not knowing much about this location I figured that I would give it a try. From the moment walking through the doors I could tell this was a very professional and respectable dealer. I had been greeted with a warm welcome by Eric Jensen and he made the rest of the process a breeze. My wife and I explained to Eric what we were looking for and he brought us to the Durango that I saw on line. Before the test drive Eric did a full walk through of the car and explained every single feature. The was very helpful since this car is fully loaded. (It would have taken me months to figure everything out.) After the test drive we then went back in to sit with Eric and discuss the terms.
Throughout the entire negotiation process Eric was very pleasant and we had felt absolutely no pressure what so ever. This goes a long way for me due to the fact that I run a sales department of over 90 representatives and the #1 thing we teach is not to be a sleazy salesperson. I truly appreciate a sales rep that treats you as a person not as a paycheck. He was able to get us a very fair trade in value for my car and was very helpful. In addition while we were doing paperwork they had the car washed and detailed making sure it was spotless.
Along with the great service the dealership was also amazing. The layout was very nice and also professional. The people were great, the service center was clean, and I am very confident that if/ when I have to get my car serviced I am confident that they do a great job.
Overall I will say this was a great experience and we have no complaints at all. We will be a long time customer of Wickstrom.

Read moreWe are from the Milwaukee, WI area and had little luck with our Jeep dealers with inventory. I understand this is a universal problem. I have a range rover that was hit by a deer and so we needed to replace the vehicle. I do my research on all the vehicles that I have interest in. We also own a Jeep Rubicon '22 and love it. I new I wanted a new jeep to replace my rover. I test drove locally a 4xe to see if I cared for the ride and if the hybrid was noticeable when shifting. I was pleasantly surprised to fine that wasn't so. I like the idea of extending my gas mileage and so decided to pursue the hybrid model. I was also looking specifically for a soft top and an unusual color beside grey and black. We were on our way to Missouri to visit our daughter in college there and I googled dealerships that had 4xe soft tops in stock and Wickstrom came up first with a color I would like. (Gobi) We planned on stopping on our way on a Friday afternoon. Knowing the dealership closed at 7 we made sure to get there by 5ish to test drive and talk with our rep (Jamie Weinberg) He was excellent! Understood that it was my decision, not my husband's and gave me the attention, eye contact and respect that I often don't receive when car shopping. He also matched my personality to chat and joke which also helped. We were ready to buy and found out we couldn't write an out of state check. We had to wire transfer $$ from our Bank to the dealership's. Their team made the whole process very smooth, except for we choose a bank holiday (at least for some) that following Monday. Wickstrom did what they could to get us in our jeep as we drove back through on Monday. Excellent service, communication and support! I will be recommending them to all that are looking! We experienced great service from this team, purchasing a pre-owned low-mileage 2021 Wrangler Sport Altitude that had just come off lease a week past, at essentially $1/mile @ just under 30k. The vehicle we purchased was in EXCELLENT condition having been well-cared for by previous owner (1) per CarFax report. Prior to our visit-test drive-purchase Wickstrom had completed multi-point Pre-Owned Certification inspection and performed maintenance on the vehicle replacing all 4 tires w/new (Yokohama Geolanders)..spare even looks like a new Bridgestone, brake pads, rotors, oil change, and immaculately detailed the engine/bay-interior-exterior. Test driving the vehicle we considered operation to be "like new" condition and purchased on-the-spot for our daughter's use at college. We extended warranty (+75km) to ensure powertrain (eng+trans) and operating systems would be easily corrected for our daughter at her locale as needed; excludes wear & tear consumables, scheduled maintenance. Truth, adding extended warranty took us a few moments to digest, ultimately realizing the value of extended coverage both written and not, for our + daughter's peace of mind. Wickstrom also picks up your first return oil change service. Team was transparent, patient, explanatory, and had no reason to resort to any sales tactics to encourage our purchase...Wickstrom's reputation and the superb condition/fair price of the vehicle settle it. We're local and know where they can be found...hah. We left Wickstrom confidently knowing we received what we paid for...a terrific vehicle and experience unsullied by any spiel.
