I’ve been building furniture for 10 years however my parents needed at least 8 bar stools made and as I am currently enrolled in graduate school to get a phd in mechanical engineering, I simply didn’t have the time. So we came to cost plus to get 10 bar stools. Upon unpacking the stools, we noticed that one had paint chipped and another had a slight crack, which is not a big deal. The remaining stools were in perfect condition the bolts just needed to be tightened. As we still had them on our trailer we just decided to take them back. The owner and employees spoke to me and my 65 year old mother like we were dogs and attempted to blame the 2 damaged stools on us. When they attempted to use a torx bit on a 5mm Allen head bolt, I pointed this out and offered to grab a 5mm allen head out of my tool box. The workers proceeded to tell me that I had no idea what I was talking about and that I was using the wrong tools. I should also mention that I have been a mechanic and hobby machinist for over 14 years and not only am familiar with Allen head bolts but regularly turn them out using my lathe and rotary broach. This is all beside the point however and I am merely leaving this review as I thought that my mother and I certainly didn’t deserve to be spoken...
