I gave one star, welp, cause I had to in order to leave a review. I will start from the top. The receptionist with the makeup and butterfly lashes, acted like she didn't want to be there. No greeting from the door. The tattoo artist even in passing act as if they couldn't speak. I went to get a piercing repierced. Pierce the same hole..Easy, right? Wrong. I went to the back where her area is, it was HOT like a sunna back there. The piercer whispered the whole time. I think she said hi, I'm not sure (no introduction, so I don't know her name). She reached me a cup of mouthwash and whispered to wash out my mouth and spit in the sink..So, I'm looking around for the sink (first time here) and she points towards the front of shop. I'm still looking for a sink. I see one behind curtains. It looks as if its storage/supply area, but hey, there's a sink. Do my thing and head back to her. Told her what I wanted pierced and we proceed. I'm sweating, it's hot and her whole vibe is off..she starts, i take a deep breath. Boom, she pierced me. Ok soooooo, she didn't pierce the same spot AND it was off centered. I look at it, she looked at it. Took a qtip, line it up. Wasn't right. Proceed to take out piercing without telling me what she was about to do. I had to tell her just repeirce the SAME HOLE. So, I got stuck twice. Communication in this place is terrible!! I try to support black business. I speak and converse with everybody but all i got was nonchalant attitudes. If you dont like working with the public, DON'T. And this was my second time visiting Effum (1st at this location) Neither were good experiences. It looks like a fun, positive place on social media but that must be only when Kirk is there. They all need some communication and customer service classes. Until then, I will stick with the...
Read moreAlways want and try to support black owned businesses, but I will not be going back for anymore piercings (can't speak on tattoos). I have MULTIPLE piercings and the piercings I received at this establishment are the only ones I have ever experienced problems with. The girl who did my ear piercings didn't even give me any aftercare instructions so thank goodness I'm familiar with it because of past experiences. There's also a little knot on both of the piercings. Even though she was voicing how she didn't feel like being at work to a co-worker she was still nice. But that doesn't make up for the money I wasted because since I'm having so many problems with one of the piercings I will for sure end up removing it. I had the piercings checked out by another professional/piercer (the person I usually go to and never had problems with any of my piercings) and I was informed of the do's and don'ts for the types of piercings I received but I was not informed of any of those things by the piercer at effum. If I would have known I would have chosen other piercings. Maybe she wasn't aware or knowledgeable herself. The prices at effum are less expensive but sometimes it's better to just pay higher prices for a...
Read moreThe “customer service” is WAY PAST POOR; it is non existent.
I booked an appointment for two basic lobe piercings with Drea-(instagram:@_ilovekings) for 3:00 pm to 3:05 pm.
I arrived at 2:55 pm and checked in for my “appointment” and paid and received a ticket with a number and section.
I went to the section on the ticket, but no one was there at 2:58 pm. Me thinking, “they may be in the bathroom or a little late.” 3:15 pm came and no one. 3:20 pm came and Drea finally shows up and acknowledged me, but proceeded to take a walk-in BEFORE me.
I was over it; I went to the “front desk” and asked for a refund and of course they stuck to their “no refund policy” and had the nerve to try and blame me for not saying something sooner.
I finally was told I could come to the chair to get my piercings at 4:00 pm. It took all of 5 minutes.
Please, if you make an appointment here and the person is not there at the scheduled time, please walk to the “front desk” IMMEDIATELY or they will simply blame you for not telling them their “business” is not...
