I am convinced that Atlas has added years to my and my wife's lives and has done wonders for my teenage sons confidence. My posture has improved, I've gain muscles where I need strength, I can do squats and splits and touch the ground where I could not before.
The workout regimen delivered by the excellent expertise of its proprietor Cameron and his established trainers who operate at his gym has guided me and my family to the best shape in our lives. For me personally, I thought I could figure it out myself and I realized I could not, my wife had a trainer, and my son was being trained by the owner, I asked for help as I finally admitted to myself that I too needed a trainer.
My journey has been intense and amazing since I started 6+ months ago. Atlas' community environment helped me overcome my fears of going to a gym and being around people infinitely stronger than myself.
The work that Cameron has done with my 15 yo son has been amazing. When he does a deadlift, the other guys in the gym rally around to cheer him on.
They have some crazy stuff in the outside area, a collection of medicine balls and Icelandic Rocks! and other heavy things to lift. I love that there are no electronic machines, everything is analog, bare metal. The focus here is lift and lift heavy, yet to do it in a manner that promotes good habits and healthy progress toward whatever your goal may be and to push to go beyond your goals once you meet them.
Cameron will debunk any internet trend or bad info on social media about getting fit, (just watch his TikTok shorts and listen to his podcasts). Cameron and the other trainers have helped me understand my body, how my muscles grow and work, weight loss vs weight gain, and different work outs.
If you're tired of the corporate big gym, then come over and get stronger with others like yourself at your own pace or with a trainer or both. I expect Atlas to continue to grow and I'm happy to be part of this...
Read moreI’m an amateur strongman out of Western Tennessee. I have competed in 2 competitions at Atlas Strength Shop in Baton Rouge and both were great experiences.
My first competition at Atlas was what I will always remember as on of the best comps ever. There were great athletes from all over the south and gulf coast. The local crew in Louisiana are a great bunch of men and women always fun to compete with.
I also competed in Louisiana’s strongest there which was a blast. I got to meet an whole new group of competitors which made for another great event!
Cameron and Matt put a lot of work into these comps and it shows. Almost every time they have built a new device for an event at the show. Cameron is a true fan of the sport and has a passion for strongman which causes him to go to great lengths to consistently add new equipment to the gym. Even if you’re just in the area I recommend dropping in to check it out in person.
Since you’re in Baton Rouge don’t forget to try some of the amazing local restaurants, LSU campus, tour the plantations, and see some gators in the wild!
If you live near you should be a member, traveling to Baton Rouge drop in, and strongmen you must make a trip to...
Read moreI've been a member at Atlas Strength Shop for just under a year, and it has been a fantastic experience. I initially joined because I wanted to try some fun and unique equipment, and Atlas definitely delivered.
I want to be clear... I am not a competitive athlete and I lift just for fun and the personal challenge, but I always feel welcome here. The community is incredible—everyone is friendly and supportive, and they really push you to achieve your goals. It's inspiring to see people of all fitness levels working out together, from elite athletes in all aspects of strength sports (Strongman, Powerlifting, Olympic Lifting, Bodybuilding) to beginners.
The gym is open 24 hours for members, which is super convenient, and the membership fees are very affordable. If you're looking for a place that combines great equipment with an awesome community, Atlas Strength Shop is the place to be. It's also a great place to drop in if you're looking for a place to work out while you're in town....
