Update: SECURITY ISSUES/CHANGE YOUR PIN# ON YOUR PLAYERS CARD AT THE END OF EVERY SINGLE VISIT TO L’AUBERGE BATON ROUGE. (See below) Pretty much everything since this review after Father’s Day, hadn’t improved much, but was not getting any worse. That has been good. ABOUT THE SECURITY ISSUE: So, someone accessed my PENN PLAY account Friday, 8/4/23, early morning, on a slot machine and had their way with the entirety of my PENN CASH. No, I wasn’t there. I was on the way to move my daughter from school. Once learning of the issue That Friday afternoon, I tried to report it. PS, no one cares at PENN or L’Auberge. Before finally making it to the casino Saturday around 5pm, I had been told the money was taken off my PENN account at 4 different times from Thursday night to Friday morning, been TOLD, by the (2) supervisors at the cage Saturday afternoon that one of them issued me a new players card FRIDAY afternoon, by her, the one talking to me. (I was in Mobile, AL, during the time she accused me of being there and issuing me a new card the afternoon before. (Proved to them I was not there, but in Alabama). Then it changed to, “””we are still reviewing this issue (after asking me to stand to the side of cage for a few minutes, turned into over an hour) and a female with my players card and PIN# came into casino at 6am the same Friday morning and went straight to slot machine and transferred all my PENN cash off of my account”””. I was then asked many questions about what female has access to my players card and PIN#, to which I replied many times, no one did. I was treated like I stole something and the supervisors just laughed and carried on while I told them what happened, but there’s wasn’t a dang funny. After wasting 2 hours of my time waiting on a resolution yesterday, I left with no answers. They initially said it would would take a few minutes to handle, and turned out to be like I was the problem. I have caked several times since leaving yesterday around 7pm, and the cage has taken my info and report of the situation 4 separate times now acting like there hasn’t been a report made by me already. They have video of the female entering alone, going to the machine and transferring my PENN cash off of my account, and much more. But still no resolution, no call, no email, nothing except acting like THERE KIOSK ARE PRIVATE AND YES, ANYKNE USUNG A KIOSK HAS TO ENTER THEIR PIN# and I ANYONE CAN SEE YOU ENTER YOUR PLAYERS CARD PIN. (L’Auberge, quit acting like you don’t know this already.)

Thus is why you should change your PIN before leaving the casino every time. You will not get professional help from the Cage or, their “”security”” in any matter, unless they ask you for your ID and you don’t have it. Security will respond 15 employees when this happens and you don’t have it. But can tell me a female used my card and PiN, which I had my card, and still have to review it and conclude it wasn’t me, before they can issue a repayment or whatever.

So if you need to get security on the down on the playing floor, just holler out you dint have an ID, they will run to you, But to get help with theft or grand larceny, well, they obviously don’t care. They will treat you like the criminal, for reporting it, proving it’s not you, and just wanting them to make a decision on resolution of the issue.

I’m at a loss for, positive words, about this place. STAY AWAY

I went the day before Father’s Day 2023. It was terrible, but yesterday was nothing new. Yea, at least half of their slots were down/off, but it’s just like any other time, there are not enough slot machines, ever. There are definitely not enough tables open for cards, ever. Yesterday was prime time on the Saturday, and half of the slots are down, and over half of the table games aren’t even open. The tables are full to capacity and I can get no where near them. It’s ridiculous that a casino that says it’s the best and nicest around, send people home that get sick and...

☆Updating previous review☆ Family member still works here, I'm still not "known". Had the opportunity to stay in the hotel. The room is...nice. I'm not generally super particular. I like a room to be clean, bedding to be comfortable, and bathrooms to be well cleaned and have decent water pressure. Overall, the room met those requirements. But had I had to pay for this room...I'd be a little underwhelmed. Nothing was "bad". But it also did not meet what I would expect from a "luxury" hotel. And if you are selling yourselves as the "prestige" hotel and casino...I'm holding you to a higher standard. I will give credit...it is nicer than my room at the Hilton hotel I had in New Orleans or the Marriott in Baton Rouge. Just not quite "better" enough, in my opinion. The bed and bedding were lovely. No issues there. The lights from the thermostat and smoke alarm were annoying. If you like sleeping in darkness, it could be an issue. This is one of those things that frustrates me in hotels, not just here. The workout room and pool area are on the roof of the hotel. Workout room is small but adequate. Equipment looks to be in good condition, towels & water available, does not have public gym smell. The pool has cabana areas to reserve and ADA poolside lift. The pool is only 3.5 feet deep at it's deepest and there is a flat, shallow section that would be excellent for letting little ones splash about. There is also a bar for your beverage needs.

Restaurants have changed a bit. The buffet is back after having been closed for a while. I didn't eat there this time, can't comment on the food. Bon Temps Market (buffet) is only accessible by way of the gaming floor. No minors. This time we ate at "Red Lotus". It was delicious! Zero complaints. Our meals: Appetizer: the wings. That sauce! Delicious! Entrées: Mixed Grill platter and General Tso Chicken. I had the Mixed Grill...HIGHLY recommend. Especially if you aren't sure what to get. Excellent service, delicious food! (Restaurant is accessible only by way of the gaming floor. No minors) Other restaurants available are: PJ's Coffee (coffee, packaged meals, pastries. All ages) ESPN Bar (burgers, steak, chicken/all ages), 18 Steak (steakhouse, cocktails)

For full disclosure: I am not a gambler. I have worked at a casino in the past (different company) I have a close relative that works for this company.

Now...my honest, non-partial opinion... This is one of e nicest properties I have seen in this area. I can not compare it to any Vegas properties, because I have never been to Las Vegas...not a gambler. But this is truly nice! The times I have been on property, it was clean and the staff was friendly. There is a new no smoking ordinance just voted in, but new smoking areas are in the works.

Bring ID, make sure it is up to date. Expired ID's are NOT legally valid.

My relative does not work on the floor and is not high ranked enough to warrant any special treatment. The employees don't know who I am. So, when I have gone without said FM, no one was nice to me because I am a co-worker or boss's family. They were genuinely nice.

There are accommodations for meetings, banquets and concerts. I've seen a few concerts here...local favorites and nationally known artist.

I definitely think it is worth a visit. Even if you are like me, and not much of a gambler. Get yourself an appetizer and one of the amazing cocktails from 18 Steak and watch the sunset on the Mississippi River. Or catch a concert, there are some excellent...

Edit: After posting this, Al B. from the resort called and we talked for about half an hour. He was responsive and we had a nice conversation regarding below. JW

Micki checked us in, and she was so nice! She was quite welcoming, and got us a room on the 10th floor with a view of the river. Great job, Micki!!

We got upstairs and the air smelled stale. It’s Louisiana. It’s humid. I get it, we’ve stayed here before. We turned the AC fan on high and left it on for the entire stay. The bathroom showed smelled of thick mildew. We ran some cold water through it and hoped it would dissipate, it never did. We dealt with it.

We started to get stuffed up after a couple of days. We thought it was the air. PLENTY of rain in the area (and upstream on the Mississippi), we thought it was that. Then, I was packing up and saw the bottoms of my socks were BLACK. Uh oh.

I went to the bathroom and got an unused washcloth and wet it slightly. I put a shoe on and rubbed it back and forth three or four times. It came up BLACK.

Had it been the first night, we’d have left. That night, we went down to grab dinner (LOVED the restaurants, service in the casino was excellent, and even though our luck sucked, we had a BLAST), then when we went back upstairs, we started to notice things, now that our eyes were open, so to speak.

The carpets throughout the hallways were disgusting. We heard a container dispensing something then smelled the perfume near the elevators (to mask the must and mildew smell?). We went back into the room and noticed the design on the carpets were well faded.

My assumption is that every floor is like this. Absent a multi-million dollar rehab, I don’t see this getting better.

The walkway to the garage is disgusting. You can smell “liquids” in the stairwells to the garage. The stone from the valet area to the hotel lobby has a stain on it resembling… something. How do you not mop that up and remove all evidence? I guess it could’ve been a spilled bowl of cereal, right?

In short, this property needs a cleaning. Top to bottom. Wet/dry vac’s in the rooms won’t do it. Power wash the stone. EVERYWHERE. A full cleaning of the stairwells, sweeping, power wash, sealant. You can't perfume your way out of the state of your property.

We checked out the next day around 400a with a long drive to Indiana. The gentleman who checked us out (no nametag) was pleasant, and when I told him what I’d found, I gave him the washcloth I had used on the carpet along with my name and phone number. I wanted the hotel manager to call when he got in. With an eleven-plus hour drive home, I knew he could reach me. No call was ever received. Did they forget me? Ignore me? Or, did they just not want to talk to me?

It’s time to spend some of that money the casino takes in to maintain the property. Absent that, we won’t be back. We were thoroughly disgusted.

One more note. When you call housekeeping, no one answers. The method to contact is via text message. We requested towels on the first day, they came within the hour, and requested a room cleaning on day 3, which they did. But, when you send a request, you get no reply if the message was received. That was a tad annoying. Did they get my message? Will they take care of it? Not sure. But, it happened. There’s my answer.

On the road home, about 4 hours north, our sinuses cleared. Mold,...
